Awesome step back in time.

5 of 5
This was our second time staying at the Finch Cottage and it is by far one of our favorite homes we have ever rented on Homeaway! This place has oodles and oodles of charm and history, from the working well pump in the front yard to the claw foot tub. It is a step back in time to a bygone era with modern upgrades including great comfortable beds, gas stove, fridge all surrounded by antiques of the past. If you look closely at the picture in the kitchen of the luncheon on the porch from 100 years ago, the same chairs in the picture are in the kitchen today. At night you will go to sleep to the sound of the loons on Hebron Lake and the whisper of the trees outside your bedroom window. During the day the lake is great for kayaking, swimming and fishing. The cottage has a private bit of waterfront to enjoy. This is a great place to get out and explore the north woods of Maine. We hiked Moxie Falls, the highest waterfall in New England one day and another day drove north into the woods to get views of Mt. Katahdin which were nothing short of spectacular. Greenville is a short drive and a charming little town to explore. Greenville also has a the closest supermarket attached to a store that is a great resource for your fishing and hunting needs. Sales clerk recommended flies for fishing that were perfect on Hebron Lake. We have rented over 30 properties over the years on Home Away and the Finch Cottage and the owner David is one of our favorites and the only one we have returned to and will continue to go back as a yearly tradition.

Nice lakeside retreat!

We enjoyed a week and a half here. Loons cackling every night -- a great way to decompress. The place was clean and comfortable. The owner is very responsive. What's not to like?

Most RELAXING vacation!!

5 of 5
Our family of 4, with two kids ages 9 and 6 stayed here for one week. The cottage was just as described and the views are just as shown. We cooked breakfast and dinners with a breeze. Property is well mantained and there was great communication with the owner. I would recommend this cottage to all my friends and family and would return here in a heart beat. Fireworks for fourth of July in Greenville were very nice too! My son kept saying that this was the best vacation he ever had! Very relaxing.
