Over the years we've stayed in many rentals around New England but the Prowhouse is something quite special. The attention to detail extends not only to the awesome aesthetics but to functionality too -- sharp knives, decent cookware, a cozy warm fire, comfortable beds -- all spotlessly clean and tidy to boot. Add in the stunning view from the windows, decks and trails and it's no wonder others mention not wanting to leave the property once they arrive. We spent many days happily enjoying the house and it's surroundings, not for a moment missing the hustle and bustle of more touristy areas down the coast. Downeast Maine is a different kind of place, and pace, and one where being comfortable 'at home' can make or break the entire vacation. The Prowhouse delivers on that in spades.
Rich is a superlative host, friendly and passionate about the house and the area, and always willing to answer any questions or to give a lead on a fun adventure. It felt like we were staying at a friend's special retreat and are thankful that he and Julie have decided to share it with the rest of us.
If Fog Season was this enjoyable, we can't want to see what a clear weather week would be like.
