                  Amazing

                  5 of 5
Simply amazing. Quaint, classic style with modern comforts, spectacular views from property and nearby state park/lighthouse. Kate was professional, courteous and friendly; can't beat that. Wish we stayed longer. Well-maintained, clean, neat rooms(there is plenty of room, could possibly accomodate 10 adults or any combination thereof). Pleasantly surprised with what we got for what we paid.

                  Beautiful, peaceful, perfect.

My husband & I, our two adult children and their spouses, had ample space and variety of things to do! The owners have thought of every possible need and then some ( paper plates! Had no idea we would use those!). The house was immaculate and tastefully decorated. Kayaking was a big draw, and yes, use the tide charts provided to plan your kayaking schedule. My daughter in law loved visiting the local art galleries, and was excited to bring back a few pieces. She also left with lots of photographic inspiration for her own work, the vistas, the ocean weathered wood, it's an artist's palette of light, texture and color! My kids grew up birding in local Ohio parks-spotting an Eagle on the island across the way, watching various water fowl...all made us wish we had brought our spotting scope! Be sure to bring your passports and cross the bridge in town to Campebello Island, Canada-FDR's summer home is there with lots of interesting stories but as lovers of nature our favorite part were driving down the various gravel roads to the rock beaches (beautiful rocks!!), scenic rocky overlooks with wind sculpted trees and driving into town where scenic dock and fishing village pics were abundant! And probably our favorite place to visit was Quoddy Head -- the lighthouse is picturesque and the views beautiful but be sure to go to the upper parking lot and hike ( short hike, fairly easy) to the boardwalk/bog area....and do your reading/research, this is a grand and amazing display of some of His finest work! Lubec is probably one of our favorite places in the country and although I selfishly do not want to tell too many peeps about it, I would like the kind people there to earn a living! The local restaurants have an ample supply of seafood, but also still plenty for our two vegetarians and two non-seafood eaters (yup, only TWO of us to enjoy the sweet, tender lobster, crab cakes, lobster rolls...) The week after we came home I told my husband I was ready to return, he laughed, I said no, you don't understand, I want to plan another trip for this August, let's look at that vacation schedule!

We planned a visit to Maine as I was born there. I was an Army brat and my Dad was stationed at the northern tip of Maine. My husband had never been to Maine. The house was clean and well laid out. The people in the town were very friendly and it had some really great restaurants. The trip was perfect, the house was beautiful, I would go back that should say it all! The owners were great to deal with and we had no problems!
