Charming Grandma's House

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at the Farmhouse. The homeowner, Roger, was accommodating, helpful and welcoming. Yes, it is an older home with all it's little quirks (smile), but it was quite comfortable for our needs. We were able to bring our dog--not all rentals are so pet friendly. It was an easy walk to the village and grocery; the neighbors were friendly and even took my husband out hauling traps one day. What more could you want??? Well, wifi would be nice...... But the library is nearby and has that.

Imagine this ...

5 of 5
The paints show a worn-out building, but do not judge a book by its cover. You'll be amazed to look at the interiors and most importantly - the kitchen. :-) "What is the house like?", you may ask. "Peaceful?" "Serene?" Hmmm.... Everything! Imagine sleeping under a starlit sky. Do you see where I am going? Imagine waking up to a crimson red sky and with sun and its reflection off of the sea all the way from horizon, uninterrupted. Do you see that? Imagine walking up to the shore right from your bed. Do you feel the sand under your feet? Well, that's how it was - daily. Not just that - Imagine tides rising and receding; Imagine a dense fog that covers everything you see within hours... I can just brag on and on! The kitchen is fully stocked with all the necessary utensils, even a chef would fall for it! You also have a pressure cooker. :-) Just get your groceries. Jody - All in all, we couldn't have asked for a better place. This was way over than what we had imagined our stay would be. You rock!

Channel View Delight

5 of 5
This is our fourth year at this wonderful cottage on the Channel. We consider it our "home away from home", fully equipped. Every sunrise is beautiful and different. You will enjoy sounds of birds, the beach, the lighthouse and the endless number of wild flowers. There are plenty of places to visit. We are golfers so we travel to the different courses to play. Drive over the border to Campobello Island, you will find another lighthouse, the Roosevelt estate, beautiful hiking trails and Herring Cove Golf Course. From there a ferry that will take you over to Deer Island and a short drive over to Eastport to follow. St Andrews is near and has the oldest golf course in Canada. It is very well maintained surrounded by nature and the coast. Every evening we enjoy returning to Channel View for a nice dinner and music. The owner has thought of everything including a great collection of music. We only use one bedroom but there are two beds in a second bedroom should you want to invite friends to share the experience. Thank you Karen and Christopher for opening Channel View Cottage to us. We look forward to seeing you again in 2015. Stephanie and Ric Winters, Jacksonville FL
