Charming Grandma's House

5 of 5
We had a wonderful stay at the Farmhouse. The homeowner, Roger, was accommodating, helpful and welcoming. Yes, it is an older home with all it's little quirks (smile), but it was quite comfortable for our needs. We were able to bring our dog--not all rentals are so pet friendly. It was an easy walk to the village and grocery; the neighbors were friendly and even took my husband out hauling traps one day. What more could you want??? Well, wifi would be nice...... But the library is nearby and has that.

Right in the thick of things!

We love the idea of having a beautiful, modern, and comfortable apartment in a historic building which is in the historic district of this lovely city. Having several restaurants, a coffee shop, a bakery, and a sweets shop within easy walking distance is delightful. The bright and airy apartment has views of the harbor, Campobello, and downtown Eastport. The apartment was the perfect size for us. We had a delightful visit and look forward to returning.

PERFECT!

The 'HomeAway' name is so absolutely fitting for this house in Eastport! We took our 2 kids (14 and 12) for a stay. The house is cozy and inviting. It's not huge, but who travels just to sit inside? Mike and Amy have thought of absolutely everything here. We were greeted with friendly notes, local information, clean linens, and even bottled water and coffee to use! The kitchen is well equipped. The bathroom is very spacious, clean, bright and modern. I honestly can't think of a single thing I needed that was not there. If I had to sum up the house in one word, I think I would use 'comforting'. In the area there is LOADS to do. North an hour is New Brunswick (check out Minister's island - very cool). An hour South is West Quoddy lighthouse and the most spectacular walk along the cliffs of Maine. In Eastport there are lots of cute shops. Mostly my kids loved fishing in the ocean off the long pier right in town. Right at the end of the street that is home to this cute house, there is a small public beach where we watched the tides flow in and out, and even watched whales passing by while we sat with a glass of wine one evening. This little house has left us brimming with memories making a person think about life as it is probably supposed to be... We'll be back.
