Secluded,light filled & beautiful craftsmanship

5 of 5
This cabin is such a great find. The open layout with the sleeping loft and the beautiful craftsmanship make it feel spacious and cozy at the same time. The bed, the pillows and the linens were all wonderfully cozy. There's so much natural light that comes in and the stove provides more than enough heat for chilly nights. The porch gives you a place that feels like your sitting in the middle of the woods. In the summer, it would be a perfect place to read a book and have a drink during a summer rainstorm. We cooked every morning and night that we were there, and the kitchen had everything we needed. Plenty of pans and baking dishes, and all the right kitchen tools. I was prepared for a lukewarm or very short hot shower, but the water stayed hot even with back to back showers after a long day of hiking. The location is perfect, secluded, but in between Acadia and Schoodic point so that you can get to either. Eric was a perfect host. Friendly, helpful, available to chat, lent us bikes, but also left us alone to enjoy. Finally they had backgammon. We play all the time, and had forgotten our board at home, so this was huge! Thanks Eric and Diane!

Unbelievably Beautiful!

5 of 5
I don't know where to start. This home, from its setting in the Maine woods, surrounded on three sides by water, to its beautiful furnishings - most imported Italian antiques from Andrea's homeland in Italy - is absolutely amazing. The owners have thought of everything to see to their guests' comfort. The home is beautifully furnished and incredibly clean. Yet the owners have also managed to make it homey and comfortable, as well. You can tell it is their dream home because everything has been so carefully planned and thought-out. The location is great. Ten minutes from Ellsworth and 30 mins to Bar Harbor and Acadia, yet you feel like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle. We were busy sightseeing every day, but honestly I wish we had had more time just to spend a day or two relaxing at this beautiful property. We loved having our coffee in the morning in the dining/living area and watching the rainbows dance around the room from the morning sun shining through the crystal chandelier. We loved finishing our day watching the sunset from the comfortable bench the owners have placed at the edge of the woods looking out over the cove. Perfect place to share a bottle of wine while watching the sun set over the cove. The rooms are all large, open, and light-filled. Huge windows throughout the house let in the sunlight and the woods, with trees swaying and leaves fluttering in the easy sea breeze, and surrounding water, become a part of the living area. My husband and I loved laying in bed at night and looking out at the silhouettes of the woods and the stars sparkling in the night sky. It seems every detail has been taken care of. The owners are wonderful, personable, and accommodating to worth with. I almost feel like I know them now. This is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever had the pleasure to visit. If you want to experience the best of all worlds, the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and surrounding towns, exploring Acadia, the inspiring Maine woods, all on the edge of the water, with all the comforts - and more - of home, this is the place you do not want to miss. My only mistake was not booking it for a longer period of time. I cannot wait to return. With many thanks to Andrea and Erika for sharing their dream home with us, I look forward to returning again in the future for a longer stay. Kindest regards to them, and assurances to other vacation seekers that you will absolutely fall in love with everything about this home.

My husband and I stayed at this lovely cottage. We had every thing we needed for a lovely, quite retreat. The view from the porch is wonderful;watching the tide changes was very interesting. The location was perfect for touring the area in this beautiful state. The lobster was unsurpassed.thank you to our gracious hosts.
