Inspiration and scerenity Beautiful

5 of 5
First of all I would just like to say this cottage along with the scenery are the most beautiful. The first time I actually stayed there was last September of 2013, but loved the cottage and area so much decided to return this past September. Needless to say I didn't want to leave. This cottage gives you peace and serenity. If you are looking for something else, you have Bar Harbor a short distance away. We enjoyed just hanging out in the cottage watching the boats and the views. Also walking the beach and going down the marina getting lobster. We were actually able to get 3 large lobster for only $12 bucks. Imagine that. There are also grocery stores at your convenience close by and some restaurants. We also were able to indulge in the Jonesport Pizza shop. Loved it. It was not only a pizza shop but had everything else to. And back to the cottage it the bedding was wondering and the bedrooms had plenty of room. It also has all the amenities of a house. I didn't need to bring anything but my food. Had a very wonderful time, look forward to returning next year.

Fantastic home, even better than expected

5 of 5
We had an opportunity to rent a home in a more recognized location but chose this one because it's away from the tourist areas and it looked very comfortable; we definitely made the right decision. The home itself is in outstanding condition, very clean and, again, comfortable. Anything you might have at home, including wifi, can be found here. We only had three but it could accommodate twice that with ease. The views are fantastic, enabling one to watch the harbor traffic and view out to the islands and open water. Bring a spotting scope, as we did, and you can see the light house that's way, way out on an island. We also had the resident bald eagle visit each day, perched on top of the pine tree 50 yards away; it was a sight that we never tired of and we welcomed the visit. The deck is a great place to sit in the morning while having your coffee, or anytime of day, really. The breeze keeps it cool and the bugs at bay. The lobster wharf out front is the perfect spot to run down and get a bucket of lobsters for an incredibly reasonable price...and that's a huge understatement. We did it every day and despite as much lobster as I've had over the years, there is nothing like cooking ones that were caught but hours earlier. Judy is wonderful owner and extremely helpful, while being available when you have a question but never being obtrusive. We really enjoyed the times we spoke with her...she's simply a lovely person. Now, Jonesport is a great place if you want to get away from it all but it's not the place to go if you're looking to go out to dinner every night at an upscale restaurant. You're pretty far up the Maine coast, which is what we wanted and I highly encourage, but you're not going to find a mall, etc., nearby. What you will find, though, is a true harbor town focused on lobster, incredible beauty and a really, really nice home to chill out in and relax.

Wonderful Family Vacation!

5 of 5
This was our second visit to Jonesport, and we were thrilled to spend our vacation this year in this spectacular home. Our family of four (including two teenage girls) was incredibly comfortable here. Biking and kayaking were great right from the house - the paddle into Beals/Jonesport harbor was a great trip. Birding from the deck was an added bonus - eagles overhead daily and the shorebirds following the tide were diverse and fun to watch. The property is close to the small towns of Jonesport and Beals - both very welcoming - and we really enjoyed the Wass Island Preserve. We ate our fill of local lobsters, clams and blueberries - all bought direct from the field, boat and wharf. The owners built and maintain this property to the highest standard - everything was perfect! Thanks!
