                OUR NEW FAVORITE PLACE

                5 of 5
What a wonderful place, the best kind of place, full of natural beauty that is so well cared for and in turn nurtures the intriguing and beautiful wildlife. Such views of the bay, shore, and islands! We saw 48 species of birds on the 30+ acres we roamed which makes a wonderful accompaniment to the setting in sight and sound. We loved to hear the hermit thrush sing its flute-like melody. We loved the chorus of frogs too. The sounds were not at all overpowering, but gentle like the waves pulling across the stones at the shoreline. That sounds like soft applause. We saw harbor porpoises and seals breaching in the bay. Every moment had its enchantment. The Barn itself is a treat with every detail lovingly placed. Every need is anticipated. Just the right accent of antiques and collectibles, comfy furniture, braided rugs, and wonderful books on local history and natural history and more. We loved the old beams and the decoration (colors) is so welcoming. Eric had wood laid out in the fireplace and plenty more ready at hand. The landscaping is beautiful and I love the small rock sculptures in unexpected places. It was just the right spot to travel to amazing places too. We enjoyed Acada, Great Waas, The Bold Coast, Quoddy Head, Lubec, Campobello Island, Jonesport, and Machias--each with their charms. Betty makes beautiful luminaries and we love Sugar, the aptly named pooch! Such good people here, unobtrusive, but helpful and friendly at every turn when sought out. We'll be back! Lynne and Chris

                LOVED IT

                5 of 5
My husband and I absolutely loved the week we spent at the Bluenose Cottage. The cottage itself was perfect for the two of us. It is extremely clean, comfortable and quiet, and has a wonderful view of the working Jonesport harbor from the deck and sun porch. I loved to sit there, watching the boats come in and out. It is within walking distance of the library, historical society and the video store, where I would go for the morning paper. It is also near a wonderful sandy beach, just 2 miles past the cottage, and also close to great places to hike in the nearby nature preserves. We also enjoyed our more distant excursions on lovely country roads to places like Lubec, where we found lots of sea glass, but we were always happy to come back to Jonesport and our lovely cottage. The people we met in Jonesport were very friendly and Sune and Patricia were so pleasant and easy to deal with and were always available if we needed anything. We have rented many vacation places for a week, but the Bluenose Cottage was one of our favorites. We look forward to returning soon. We would highly recommend it.

THIS IS AN EXCEPTIONALLY BEAUTIFUL LOCATION

                5 of 5
We love this part of the Maine coast, and the location couldn't be more ideal. The house is a beautiful and spacious post and beam. The folks who oversee it from Jonesport Realty (Julie & Bill) are wonderful to deal with. They were very helpful with everything, being attentive to detail, whilst also being very respectful of our privacy. We were able to visit Campobello Island, Roque Bluffs State Park, Great Wass Island Nature Preserve, and the Great Bar which you can see from the cabin. Roque Island is across from the cabin, and on the far side (we are kayakers) of the island is a gorgeous white sandy beach. Lobster and other fresh seafood is readily available at excellent prices in this area. The Schoodic Peninsula and Acadia National Park aren't all that far away either. It always has the smell of the sea in the air there. There is an enormous tub in the master bedroom, and two decks, one of which has a swinging bench on it. It doesn't get much better than this. The folks from Jonesport Realty returned our security deposit so quickly that we received it three days after we checked out!
