GREAT LOCATION, GREAT RENTAL

5 of 5
We enjoyed two weeks at “The House” this summer and I wanted to give you a review. We just left a few weeks ago actually. We are repeat customers having stayed there 3 years in a row. Another amazing week. We were up in the mornings (about 5am) having coffee to watch the exquisite sunrise over the bay. Coffee in the rocker, bundled up a little in early October, but that's what we like to do. After breakfast, of blueberry pancakes we would usually walk about a mile to the far end of Jellison Cove Road. Its a dead-end so no one was up really ( at 7am )and lots of wildlife to see. During our stay this time we had a plumbing leak under the kitchen sink. I called Judy and before noon the leak was fixed and no damage done. (He said it stemmed from a misstep by another plumber many years ago.) Our day was not ruined. But I was impressed with how quickly he came over. You must treat him well Judy!!!! We always bring our kayaks. Its a kayaker's dream! 50 steps out the back and across the lawn and you launch your boat. Very quiet water too, usually. We just love kayaking here, no muss, nofuss. The beds were great as usual, and plenty of fans which we use, but with the sliders in the master bedroom we seldom use them there. The TV has plenty of channels for evenings, tho I prefer to spend time on the patio. I would say the best quality time at the house is the time spent with coffee and a paper/book or wine on the lawn. It seems to refuel us.....all that solitude and beauty with no pressures. This year was the first time we took a ride with Babe and we really enjoyed it. He was very informative, but with lots of funny stories. The first time we came my husband exclaimed as we prepared to leave “This was the best vacation we ever had!' and we've been returning every year. Toby Leibovitz

Unbelievably Beautiful!

5 of 5
I don't know where to start. This home, from its setting in the Maine woods, surrounded on three sides by water, to its beautiful furnishings - most imported Italian antiques from Andrea's homeland in Italy - is absolutely amazing. The owners have thought of everything to see to their guests' comfort. The home is beautifully furnished and incredibly clean. Yet the owners have also managed to make it homey and comfortable, as well. You can tell it is their dream home because everything has been so carefully planned and thought-out. The location is great. Ten minutes from Ellsworth and 30 mins to Bar Harbor and Acadia, yet you feel like you are miles away from the hustle and bustle. We were busy sightseeing every day, but honestly I wish we had had more time just to spend a day or two relaxing at this beautiful property. We loved having our coffee in the morning in the dining/living area and watching the rainbows dance around the room from the morning sun shining through the crystal chandelier. We loved finishing our day watching the sunset from the comfortable bench the owners have placed at the edge of the woods looking out over the cove. Perfect place to share a bottle of wine while watching the sun set over the cove. The rooms are all large, open, and light-filled. Huge windows throughout the house let in the sunlight and the woods, with trees swaying and leaves fluttering in the easy sea breeze, and surrounding water, become a part of the living area. My husband and I loved laying in bed at night and looking out at the silhouettes of the woods and the stars sparkling in the night sky. It seems every detail has been taken care of. The owners are wonderful, personable, and accommodating to worth with. I almost feel like I know them now. This is truly one of the most beautiful places I have ever had the pleasure to visit. If you want to experience the best of all worlds, the hustle and bustle of Bar Harbor and surrounding towns, exploring Acadia, the inspiring Maine woods, all on the edge of the water, with all the comforts - and more - of home, this is the place you do not want to miss. My only mistake was not booking it for a longer period of time. I cannot wait to return. With many thanks to Andrea and Erika for sharing their dream home with us, I look forward to returning again in the future for a longer stay. Kindest regards to them, and assurances to other vacation seekers that you will absolutely fall in love with everything about this home.

Wonderful Base for Acadia Exploring!

5 of 5
We wanted to explore Acadia for our honeymoon and Vicki's cabin provided the ideal base from which to do so. Equidistant from both Acadia National Park and Schoodic Peninsula, we were able to spend our days out hiking and playing and then retreat to the cabin (which just far enough away from the hustle and bustle of busy Bar Harbor) for rest and relaxation. The guest space in Vicki's thoughtfully designed and beautifully constructed Adirondack-style cabin is ideal for a couple of people looking for a unique place to call home for while traveling. Vicki was a friendly and generous host and was able to provide us many great recommendations for places to eat and things to see and do beyond what we had planned. Overall a terrific experience and would happily stay here again if/when we come back to the area!
