GREAT LOCATION, GREAT RENTAL

5 of 5
We enjoyed two weeks at “The House” this summer and I wanted to give you a review. We just left a few weeks ago actually. We are repeat customers having stayed there 3 years in a row. Another amazing week. We were up in the mornings (about 5am) having coffee to watch the exquisite sunrise over the bay. Coffee in the rocker, bundled up a little in early October, but that's what we like to do. After breakfast, of blueberry pancakes we would usually walk about a mile to the far end of Jellison Cove Road. Its a dead-end so no one was up really ( at 7am )and lots of wildlife to see. During our stay this time we had a plumbing leak under the kitchen sink. I called Judy and before noon the leak was fixed and no damage done. (He said it stemmed from a misstep by another plumber many years ago.) Our day was not ruined. But I was impressed with how quickly he came over. You must treat him well Judy!!!! We always bring our kayaks. Its a kayaker's dream! 50 steps out the back and across the lawn and you launch your boat. Very quiet water too, usually. We just love kayaking here, no muss, nofuss. The beds were great as usual, and plenty of fans which we use, but with the sliders in the master bedroom we seldom use them there. The TV has plenty of channels for evenings, tho I prefer to spend time on the patio. I would say the best quality time at the house is the time spent with coffee and a paper/book or wine on the lawn. It seems to refuel us.....all that solitude and beauty with no pressures. This year was the first time we took a ride with Babe and we really enjoyed it. He was very informative, but with lots of funny stories. The first time we came my husband exclaimed as we prepared to leave “This was the best vacation we ever had!' and we've been returning every year. Toby Leibovitz

We loved this place.

5 of 5
This was the perfect place for our large family. It was clean and spacious. We appreciated the large kitchen with 2 refrigerators and 2 stoves and a table around which we could all fit! I am a gardener, and I loved the landscaping and flowers. We liked the quietness of Hancock Point -- not touristy like many parts of coastal Maine. The beach was very close and our children and grandchildren actually went swimming in the chilly waters of Maine! We liked the library very much -- we are readers. We have a family vacation every 2 years and have been doing this for many years. This home was by far the nicest one we have found. I also appreciated very much the kindness and availability (by phone) of the owners and the availability of the caretaker. It was a very special week for our entire family and we are grateful. A Beautiful Home, Views and close to Everything

5 of 5
Stan and Theresa have a beautiful home. The combination of Oriental and Nautical is perfect. The home was spotless and peaceful. The kayaks were wonderful for our entire family - we spotted Bald Eagles, Kingfishers, and Loons, among other birds. The playroom downstairs was great for the teens. The roads were great for walking, biking, jogging, and just enjoying. The location was so convenient - we could get to Acadia National Park within 35 minutes - we went there 4 days. If you want to explore further we went to the classic seaport of Camden in just over an hour and to the working historic harbor of Stonington in less. Having the town of Ellsworth so close was wonderful because with 3 teenagers it seems you can never get enough food. Heather Lane is a private road and several map-generation websites couldn't give specific directions to the house. I used GoogleEarth and a few other sites to get a map of the general area. I'm sure you can call Stan and Theresa and get more details - they are a lovely couple.
