This was a great location for my family to visit Acadia. My wife and I shared the main bedroom, and our two teenage sons shared the other one. Wifi was nice for the teens, especially since there's no TV. (Which is what I'd prefer on vacation!) Kitchen was nice and stocked with the essentials, including cork screw. We used it to make breakfast a few mornings and warm up our leftovers from dinner the night before. Had a table we used for cards on two evenings. Living room was nice with the cast iron stove and a desk filled info on area attractions. The sofa is wicker and not really comfy to stretch out on, but was OK for just sitting. The location is centrally located on Mount Desert, making it easy to get just about anywhere, and avoid the bustle of Bar Harbor proper. Echo Lake is across the road and lovely. I saw in some other reviews the concerns about the road. It's there, and because of the rustic nature of the cabin you can hear it, but it wasn't really an issue for us. We had some heavy rain one night, and had no issues. The sound of the rain on the roof was awesome. The owners were super easy to work with, and very flexible with our arrival/departure dates given that we wanted to arrive mid-week to take advantage of cheaper flights. I would definitely suggest others to give this place a try.

My husband, small pooch and I spent a lovely Memorial Day weekend at Tall Pines. It's a gorgeous cabin tucked away in it's own private corner of the countryside with fabulous nature sounds to lull you to sleep each night in the super cozy beds! The well equipt kitchen is a cooks dream- fabulous non stick pans, decent knives and tools galore! Cabin also features a cozy sitting area with gas fireplace, sunny deck overlooking a small meadow and bathroom with power shower. Grocery stores, Bar Harbour town and Acadia National Park are all a short drive away. Owners very friendly, helpful and responsive to questions. We'll be surely be back! Amy, Thomas (& Mabel the dog!)

My wife and I traveled to Mount Desert Island to celebrate our honeymoon, but also just to get away in a cabin in the woods and Cabin Fever exceeded are expectations! The cabin was spacious and clean and provided all basic amenities, particularly in the kitchen so cooking was easy. We loved how quiet the place was and the fact its on a private drive so felt secluded. Re: location, we were able to get on and off the island easily and Bar Harbor was only 10-15 minutes away. The owner was responsive and very easy to work with. We would definitely recommend the cabin to a friend or relative.
