Serendipity by the Sea

5 of 5
White Caps II is a wonderful hidden treasure. My family (and dog!) immediately feel at home in this spacious and cozy seaside cottage. The views from the deck are breathtaking, and quintessential Maine -- islands, lighthouses, lobster boats, and the wide open, deep blue Atlantic. The sound of the waves lapping on the beach greet me in the morning, and lull me to sleep at night. My husband & I love it so much here that we increased our stays from one week to two! So happy I met Candy, with her friendly smile and great laugh, all those years ago at the Georgetown Country Store. Thanks to her my family has enjoyed many summers at this little bit of Heaven on Earth... :)

Relaxing!

5 of 5
This place has it all! The house was furnished very comfortably inside. There is plenty of room with three separate areas to gather with family and friends. The place was immaculate both inside and out. The kitchen has all the amenities. The Adirondack chairs outside provides comfort while watching the wildlife. The location couldn't be better. Just a few minutes to get off the island and on to our destinations; dining in Bath, a short drive to Boothbay Harbor, shopping in Camden, L.L. Bean, and the outlets in Freeport! We went to Reid State Park which has an awesome beach. (By the way, the Georgetown General Store two minutes away has great prices on fresh lobster and lobster rolls). The house is very secluded because the back yard is the Audubon Bird Sanctuary and front is water inlet for privacy. If you need a place to get away from it all this is it. The owners were awesome to deal with and quickly responded to our questions. It is obvious they take great pride in the property and value their guests. You won’t be disappointed. We had an awesome stay I can't wait to come back.

Worth Every Penny

The two of us stayed at the Summer House for a couple of years now. Last summer we took two weeks there. I read three books while lounging in the sunroom (in my perfect spot) with a fabulous view of the water. Some of our favorite things to do there were looking at the view, going to Reid State Park (pass was included with the house) eating out at Sara’s Café in Wiscasset (try the lobster pizza- but everything is good) There is also a new place just on the north side the bridge to Boothbay on the water. They look super fancy but they have a great price on their lobster dinner. I think it was under 15.00 Do the tourist things like LL Bean about 20 minutes south and Boothbay Harbor-just north of this ideal location. The Chocolate Church in Bath and the Opera house in Boothbay have some nice concerts during the summer. My husband became fast friends with Sam, and Ruth could not be more cordial. In fact, we bought a house nearby so we could enjoy the area year round! I never wanted to ruin our chances of getting our two weeks by my raving review. Purely selfish on my part. The furniture is much nicer than in the old pictures. There is a nice big white table with pretty chairs and new living room sofas. With prior permission they do allow pets, but check first. That was the reason we stayed there in the first place, so I could have my doggie with me. If I needed to stay anywhere while my new place was being worked on, it would be this place. The moment you open the door you feel like it is Maine and it feels like home.
