Great quiet cabin with awesome views of cove

4 of 5
Nice and cozy log cabin with awesome deck and sliders looking out over cove. Quiet dead-end road, so perfect for walking/biking with kids. Great to walk right out and down to water and explore at low tide. Weather was cool and cloudy for most of our time so we didn't get to enjoy the kayaks that are here. Plenty to explore for sure. We did enjoy the massive wood-stove at night! Very easy to get up to Rockland and Rockport as well as down to Boothbay. We enjoyed walking around all 3 villages. Not much open since early season, but was nice and quiet and enjoyed some great seafood at the local restaurants. Great dog friendly house. Nice neighbors across street that have a dog that ours just loved! Thank you Amy for making your home dog friendly! Delano Seafood Market is great for getting lobsters, which we enjoyed on our last night. Thanks again Amy for your quick responses and making everything so easy. We had a great time. The Crawfords

A Lovely Cottage in a Gorgeous Location!

5 of 5
Yellow Dog Cottage offers everything that’s to love about Maine: Gorgeous water views, tidal pools outside your door, and plenty to do within an easy half-hour drive if you want to shop, sample the local restaurants, or meander about and explore the area. We loved eating at Moody’s Diner on Route 1, and had plenty of leftovers for another meal. Within an easy half-hour drive you can visit the town of Damariscotta to the south, Damariscotta Lake State Park to the north, and the Farnsworth Art Museum in Rockland to the northeast. The town of Damariscotta is a treasure – we particularly liked King Eider’s Pub, Salt Bay Café, and the Maine Coast Bookshop. Damariscotta Lake Park is a great place to bring the family – the water is clear and calm, and there’s a wide sandy beach. The Farnsworth Art Museum is a great place to see the artwork of three generations of the Wyeths. The cottage is cozy, clean, and comfortable, and Katharine and Paul are very attentive and are genuinely interested in ensuring their guests enjoy their stay. I highly recommend Yellow Dog Cottage!

What an absolute gem!

5 of 5
This cottage is a perfect blend of antique charm and brand new, luxury accommodations. We never wanted to leave the house as it's location is one of complete serenity and peacefulness. I can not wait to go back and would love to experience this home - and unspoiled part of Maine - in all seasons. The home is spotlessly clean and very well-appointed with all the supplies you will need for your stay. The owner is communicative and extremely helpful in answering any questions you may have. Nearby Rockland is quite adorable and has many nice shops and restaurants. But seriously, you won't want to leave the cottage.
