Just what we needed.

5 of 5
Summary: - Quiet, peaceful, comfortable and relaxing. - Nature surrounds you and the calm waters of the bay are just visible through the trees...and only a short walk away. -Welcoming. Our quick story: My wife an I were in need of an escape and we found it here. With our two Jack Russells along for the week we arrived at this quaint retreat. Nestled back in the oak trees we found this comfortable, clean & well kept cottage. "Maryanne's Cottage" named after the owners mother who stayed here frequently. Our host Joasha was simply delightful. She and her lovely and excitable companion Kayanna ( 1yr old black lab ) were the only others we saw on this 36 acre wooded peninsula all week. The first morning I took my coffee to the front porch and watched 4 deer make there way through the trees near the camp. A short walk later I was at the water watching the bald eagle stretch his wings. A day did not go by that we didn't see something wonderful here. Harbor seals, Osprey, Canadian geese, etc... The location made it an easy day trip to Acadia, Schoodic point, Booth Bay, or a quick shopping trip to Ellsworth. We enjoyed what we came for...a relaxing week to ourselves. I bet you will too.

“Incredible, truly "Where heaven touches earth"”

5 of 5
The location is exactly as advertised, great pictures and descriptions. This property is among the cleanest and most well stocked of any place we have stayed. We had wonderful hosts, they seemed to sense our every need from a nice supply of baked goods, and a well stocked kitchen to prior preparation of kindling and logs for both our indoor and outdoor fires. I recommend this property in the highest manner and will be posting everywhere I can about it. The caretakers provide company and information when needed and allow you to remain as private as you desire while enjoying this amazing property in nature. This is the perfect place to reflect on your life, forget about your daily cares and enjoy the natural beauty this earth has to offer. Should you find yourself in need of other distractions, Acadia National park is within easy reach, both MDI & the Schoodic peninsula. Many great small harbor towns surround this beautiful property.

wonderful and relaxing

Our family had a wonderful week of kayaking, swimming, and just relaxing. A great house with plenty of room for all 7 of us! We ate every dinner on the spacious screened in porch. It was convenient to visit our family in Ellsworth. We will be back!
