Amazing Home!

5 of 5
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home! When I win the lottery, now I know how I will spend my money - on a shower with a sauna, copper sinks and a heated towel rack. This home was big enough for us and our three kids (13, 10, 6) although we wished the loft bedroom had stairs or an easier way to get up there. We had thought there was a 2nd bedroom on the main floor because the pictures show the master bedroom twice but with different bedding. I didn't read the description closely enough, I guess. It didn't matter though. We used the outdoor fireplace almost every night which we all enjoyed. We swam in the lake, fished with a boat we rented and used the kayaks. Didn't catch a lot of fish but what we caught were bass and sunfish. The lake is really private - no public boat access and no houses on the opposite ide of the lake. We really appreciated the location - secluded but only 1-2 minutes from the main road, only about 30 minutes from Bar Harbor and 10-15 minutes to Ellsworth where we ate out at the Union River Lobster Pot Restaurant and bought groceries at Walmart and Shaw's. I highly recommend the Diver Ed boat trip out of Bar Harbor. All of my kids loved it, even my 13 year old and they were very, very accommodating when one son came down with a fever and we had to exchange our tickets for another day (They clearly state no exchanges but did it anyway.). Thanks for the great stay in Ellsworth. Well worth the money for the rental! Almost forgot to add that this house was very, very clean and well-kept.

Sandy Cove Cottage Fans

5 of 5
Sandy Cove Cottage is an ideal rental. It comfortably accommodates 10 people and is a great place for family gatherings. The owners, Michelle and Steve are very conscientious and have given much thought to making sure the cottage is equipped with everything renters would need. We had family dinners both inside and outside on the deck over looking the peaceful cove while listening and watching the loons. We spent our days swimming, boating, fishing, kayaking and canoeing. We also took time to explore nearby Acadia and even went bird watching at Birdsacre Owl Sanctuary. Both trips were easily accessible and provided us with spectacular mountain views and amazing wildlife experiences. Bar Harbor had excellent restaurants. Paddy's restaurant was exceptional and it even permits dogs to sit with their customers. All in all our Sandy Cove Cottage was an extraordinary vacation. Thank you to Steve and Michelle for providing us with such warm hospitality.

True to the description,only better!

5 of 5
We just returned from our week at "Out to Camp". The house is beautifully maintained and true to the description on vrbo. We were a group of 7 adults and 2 children. We had plenty of private space for all. My husband and I slept in the "daylight basement" with our twin 6 year old boys. There was plenty of space for us and all our stuff. The adjacent game room and walk out was perfect for the boys. The master bedroom and loft was used by my in-laws and sister in-law. There was plenty of space upstairs. All the rooms were spacious. The loft had a futon for sleeping, but proved to be too uncomfortable for sister in-law. The main floor bedroom, entry Hall, kitchen and dining was spacious and well equipped. The first floor bathroom was large enough for us to share. The outside deck had brand new flooring and railings. With a nice breeze we were able to sit outside each evening and watch the boys swimming in the pond. We grilled most nights and the kitchen was equipped with everything we needed. This was our first trip to Acadia. We were 30 minutes or so to the park at "Out to Camp". The road to and from was an easy drive past restaurants, shopping, etc. this made the location just fine, as we needed to get these services coming and going each day we ventured out. This home is fantastic for a relaxing retreat in a beautiful, private setting.
