A perfect vacation!

5 of 5
Our family - including two teenage girls - spent a wonderful four days on Toddy Pond. Everything was perfect. Quiet, secluded and peaceful. The property was as great as we imagined it would be, and Karen and Mark were extremely helpful, kind and generous. Karen had the cabin stocked with a bottle of wine and snacks, and with coffee making things for our first morning - how thoughtful! And on our last night, the best blueberry pie with ice cream. The fishing, kayaking and deck were wonderful. We enjoyed visits to Blue Hill, Castine and Deer Isle - all easy trips from the cabin. The deck and waterviews (and loon calls) were extremely relaxing. We look forward to visiting again!

Acadia Maine

5 of 5
My husband, 2 children, ages 15 and 13, and myself spent a wonderful week in this gorgeous home. The house is in a very peaceful setting overlooking Frenchman Bay. It could not have been more perfect. The house is even more lovely than the pictures depict. The decorating touches add so much to the overall feel of the home. The house was well stocked and we wanted for nothing. The owner, Rich, was always very helpful and a pleasure to work with. We often saw eagles and harbor porpoises from the shoreline. We did our first sea kayaking trip, which was fun. We spent 3 full days in Acadia on Mt. Desert Island. Did some great hikes, our favorites being the Beehive and Precipice Trails. We swam (briefly) at Sand Beach; the water is only 55 degrees! But after a long hike, it felt great. We had popovers at Jordon Pond House which is a must do! We tried to watch the sunset from Cadillac Mountain, but it was too cloudy that day. We did have a very nice sunset our first night at the house. We also spent time at the part of Acadia at Schoodic peninsula. Did a nice hike there and also watched the waves crash along the rocks. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend this little slice of heaven.

A peaceful place to stay

5 of 5
The house is in a quiet and peaceful spot. It was clean and equipped with everything we needed. The kitchen was equipped with everything we needed to prepare our locally-bought clams and mussels for dinner one night. We were thankful for the laundry, as we have young children. The big bedroom was spacious enough for our son's porta-crib and the smaller room with the trundle bed was perfect for our girls. Our dealings with Helen (by phone and email) and her neighbor (in person) were wonderful. It was a nice stay and we were able to explore the areas around Ellsworth (the smaller Lamoine Beach was perfect for our family) as well as the busier Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island attractions (35-45 min drive, depending on where you're going).
