Comfortable and Cozy

4 of 5
We spent a week at this property and enjoyed our time there. The property manager was easy to work with and got the information to us ahead of time so that when we arrive there was no issue getting into the building. While the furniture and television are worn and out of date, the interior was clean, heating and appliances worked well, so we were comfortable and able to enjoy our stay there. I would suggest to anyone renting to be prepared for the water to be very sulfurous and hard. Bring drinking water or pick up a Brita filter pitcher to keep in the fridge. It is a quiet and isolated spot, but if you need anything Ellsworth is only 25-30 min away. Acadia National Park is about a 40 min drive, and is well worth the trip out.

GREAT LOCATION, GREAT RENTAL

5 of 5
We enjoyed two weeks at “The House” this summer and I wanted to give you a review. We just left a few weeks ago actually. We are repeat customers having stayed there 3 years in a row. Another amazing week. We were up in the mornings (about 5am) having coffee to watch the exquisite sunrise over the bay. Coffee in the rocker, bundled up a little in early October, but that's what we like to do. After breakfast, of blueberry pancakes we would usually walk about a mile to the far end of Jellison Cove Road. Its a dead-end so no one was up really ( at 7am )and lots of wildlife to see. During our stay this time we had a plumbing leak under the kitchen sink. I called Judy and before noon the leak was fixed and no damage done. (He said it stemmed from a misstep by another plumber many years ago.) Our day was not ruined. But I was impressed with how quickly he came over. You must treat him well Judy!!!! We always bring our kayaks. Its a kayaker's dream! 50 steps out the back and across the lawn and you launch your boat. Very quiet water too, usually. We just love kayaking here, no muss, nofuss. The beds were great as usual, and plenty of fans which we use, but with the sliders in the master bedroom we seldom use them there. The TV has plenty of channels for evenings, tho I prefer to spend time on the patio. I would say the best quality time at the house is the time spent with coffee and a paper/book or wine on the lawn. It seems to refuel us.....all that solitude and beauty with no pressures. This year was the first time we took a ride with Babe and we really enjoyed it. He was very informative, but with lots of funny stories. The first time we came my husband exclaimed as we prepared to leave “This was the best vacation we ever had!' and we've been returning every year. Toby Leibovitz

Pure Bliss!!

5 of 5
My husband and I found this spacious, well-appointed home to be as beautiful as its scenic location! Being from out of state, we were searching for a place to become our “home” while we hosted an overnight stay for the bridal attendants traveling to our daughter’s wedding. From the moment we pulled in the driveway and unlatched the door, we were smitten by its charm. The home is ultra clean, tastefully decorated, very comfortable, and offers an abundance of seating. The view from the house is spectacular! Due to inclement weather, the photographer took pre-wedding pictures inside the home, and they were just lovely. The owners of the home were wonderful to work with; the information they provided was professional and thorough. Our only regret was that we couldn’t stay longer!
