Wonderful, peaceful vacation spot!

5 of 5
My three children and I just got back from a week at this beautiful home. I didn't want to ever leave. It is so peaceful and relaxing there. The house itself is exactly as represented on the website. It is beautifully constructed and very clean! The kitchen has everything you could think of that you might need when cooking. The bathroom has a washer and dryer which I really appreciate having on vacation. I loved the clothesline outside too! It was so wonderful waking up in the morning and looking outside at the river. I would sit on the front porch with my coffee and you can't see or hear any other people. Pure bliss! The river and lake are beautiful. We enjoyed canoeing and kayaking. It is calm enough that my 10 year old daughter was able to kayak on her own with us next to her in the canoe. She thought that was the best! We went to Quoddy Head State Park which has amazing scenery and views. Lubec was a fun town to explore and we recommend Becky's Seafood in Lubec. It's a food cart on the owner's property, right next to their house. It doesn't look like much but the fish and chips are so good! We went back a second time. We also went to Reversing Falls in Pembroke which the kids thought was very cool. This was just a great vacation where I got to relax and reconnect with my children. They are 17, 14, and 10 and they actually spent time playing board games together which I haven't seen them do in a long time. Thank you Eric and Paula for this beautiful rental property!

Beautiful, Peaceful Retreat

5 of 5
Having been visiting Green Lake since 1973, this is the most peaceful getaway I’ve experienced on the lake. My family and I had a wonderful experience during the one-week (much too short for my liking!) stay. Lucy and Paul are dynamite hosts, always willing to do what they can to ensure an enjoyable vacation. The property is absolutely beautiful, and with the call of the loons it was truly a peaceful retreat. The cabin and environment was as described - clean, well maintained, and a kitchen that is well supplied. Bar Harbor, Schoodic Peninsula, and many more gorgeous attractions are an easy day trip. Downtown Ellsworth has excellent grocery stores, Finn’s Irish Pub, and Ruth & Wimpy’s Restaurant in Hancock, a short 20-minute drive out Route 1. I would definitely recommend this to a friend, relative, and anyone else. I wish all properties were this well cared for and the owners/hosts so accommodating.

Absolutely lovely, and everything as described.

The cottage is beautifully laid out, has everything you could possibly need, the view is spectacular, and Ken and Wendy are great hosts. We loved Blue Hill and will be back.
