Great place to relax or get out & be active!

Our week in this charming cabin was very enjoyable. My husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet, plus the opportunity to go on nearby hikes at the Holbrook Island Sanctuary. Bucks Market had everything we needed for the week, including a great fresh seafood selection. The restaurant there was a treat. The Nearing's Good Life Farm was down the road & was a very interesting visit. Our daughter's family joined us later in the week and our 7 & 10 year old grandchildren loved the beach that's right in front of the cabin. We saw porpoise's, eagles, clams & crabs, lots of birds, beautiful sailboats, and lobster boats checking traps 50 feet from us. We all did a day trip to Acadia National Park. Top this all off with picking blueberries down the road & a ride on the owner's boat, & I would say it was perfect!

A Wonderful place to make memories

5 of 5
We came with friends and family for a huge get-together- we rented every cottage on the property in order to accommodate all of us- so many thanks to Barbara for being so helpful! We, of course, had the bay view cottage and were overwhelmed with the beauty of our surroundings. And our folks who had dogs were so happy to be able to bring them along! There is so much to do in the area- something for everyone. Two minutes brought us to the water to dig clams or go tubing (cold water even in August!), lots of meadows for the kids to play in safely, campfires at night and lobster a short walk away. All this, clean, comfortable and so much to see and do. We'll be back...maybe next time with not quite soooo many friends!

Great stay!

Great location, close to Acadia and local attractions, but private enough to be off the beaten path. House is new, but a work in progress, definitely will return for the next trip. Fireplace is wood burning, hot tub is comfortable. Basement is a work in progress, and I would recommend window treatments in living room/kitchen (blinds for deck door) and upstairs bedroom. A/C upstairs worked well, but the rest of the house did get hot in the afternoon with the sun. Given time and love, this will be a true gem to return to again and again.
