A wonderful getaway in the middle of winter!

5 of 5
My husband and I wanted to get away from the corporate world for a week, someplace serene, beautiful, but with the amenities of home. We found it and more in this cabin! We arrived late at night due to a snow storm, but found the cabin easily. The road and driveway were plowed and the cabin was pleasantly warm. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook all our meals, and the open great room was really nice, as it allowed us to chat when one of us was cooking. The bedroom on the main floor has its own bathroom, as well as a TV/cable, which was a nice surprise. But our biggest surprise was the view. The view is stunning, even in the middle of winter. It was such a nice surprise to wake up to! (And the view is even better from the lower floor.) Although I ended up having to work half the time we were there, being able to pause and watch the waves helped to keep my stress level down. I can't say enough nice things about this cabin. Dealing with Rich was super easy, as was the rental processes. The cabin was clean, warm, beautiful, and had amazing views. My husband and I very much enjoyed our stay here, and will look to come back in the future!

Wonderful peace and solitude by the ocean!

5 of 5
We rented this house for two months in 2014. So comfortable, clean and spacious with a great view and beach. The house has all of the amenities and a well stocked kitchen. Being close to Roque Bluffs State Park, Jasper Beach and many more beautiful places kept us entertained even while we had our own beautiful place to relax in total quiet and privacy. Lots of hiking in this region and plenty to do outdoors. Machias is close for shopping and eating out but you're only an hour from Bar Harbor and Acadia. We were also close to Calais at the Canadian border, and Campebello Island across the bridge from Lubec. Such a beautiful area! And dark enough for night sky photography. With this wonderful house, this was the perfect place for our photography and painting endeavors and we would go again without hesitation. Jim, the caretaker, was very helpful and personable and gave us lots of ideas of places to see and we now consider him, along with the owners, to be friends.

Quiet, peaceful lodge on a beautiful lake

5 of 5
Overall my family and I had a wonderful stay at this lodge. The lodge is very spacious with many amenities inside. My husband and my son and his girlfriend enjoyed the recreation room downstairs, especially the pinball machines and the pool table. The bedrooms were all spacious and comfortable, some with great views in the morning. The living room and dining room areas also had gorgeous views of the lake! The lake was very beautiful and we all enjoyed our daily canoe rides around the lake, the canoe was easily rented and delivered for the week from a local guy. My family and I also really enjoyed the fire pit near the lake and had several camp fires during the week. Besides the lodge and lake, we also liked that the lodge is not too far from Ellsworth, which has a bunch of great little shopping areas. My husband and I also made a day trip to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park which is not too far away. Overall we really enjoyed our stay for the week and will definitely keep this place in mind for a future family trip!
