Wonderful house for a big family!

5 of 5
Thanks for the lovely rental. I've never stayed at such an easy-going rental home, and certainly not one so packed to the gills with everything — and I mean everything — needed for a relaxing Maine vacation.

what a dream

5 of 5
We had no idea what to expect when we arrived at the brown house, but this place is a dream! Overlooking the water, watching the tide roll in and out, waking up every morning to the hustle and bustle of the lobster boats, the sound of a light house in the distance! it was straight out of a perfect novel. Our 2 pups enjoyed it as much as we did, they loved sitting on the deck and watching the boats and the birds go by. The people of Stonington are some of the the friendliest people we have ever met, and the culture they have and love of their community is wonderful. Once your there you don't need a car! there are the most amazing handmade lobster rolls right out the door at the ice cream stand, a straight from the lobster boats restaurant next door, many art galleries, a market once a week and many beautiful places to walk to, like the lilly pond and a tucked away little beach! With Acadia National Park being only an hour away we ventured there twice on our vacation, on our second trip there on top of North Bubble Rock WE GOT ENGAGED! it was without a doubt the perfect place to start a new chapter in our lives!

Quality & Location

5 of 5
Our family spent two weeks in this delightful location June 2011. The property is architecturally very well done, and the construction, finishes and furnishing are all top notch. This is a high quality place! We enjoyed being in the middle of Deer Isle, away from the traffic near the town centers but no more than 15 mins from anything we wanted to do. Our young kids really enjoyed the cottage and had a great time roaming the property. The private dock is a great way to end a day as a family, roasting marshmallows or just enjoying the sunset. This is my fifth trip to the Deer Isle area and I highly recommend this property. The Eaton family has created something very special here.
