Last August, my husband, small dog and I came to the cabin for two wonderful weeks. The cabin is spacious, very clean and comfortable. The well equiped kitchen had all we needed to make our meals which we ate at a table over looking the river. The living room is large with lots of table space for our books, guides and maps. The bed is very comfortable with a skylight over head and a bathroom just through the door. There is a wonderful deck also looking over the river which we spent hours on reading and viewing birds including a bald eagle. The yard is spacious with more chairs. There is a private dock with kayaks; we paddled both ways on the river enjoying so much beauty. The cottage is on a dirt road for great walking with both water views and woods, blackberries too. Downtown is nearby with a fabulous used bookstore behind the library. CDs were 3 for a dollar. We bought bags of books and CDs. There are good books in the house too. The rising Tide is a wonderful natural food store with organic food and bulk. They have a farmer's market too. We love Rockland and Rockport for their fabulous museums though the Rockport museum will be moving to Rockland soon. Rockland has a huge farmers market and so much more to see and do. One day we went to Brunswick to go to the wonderful Bowdoin College Art Museum. Damariscotta is a great jumping off place as there is so much in the area including the ocean. Our only complaint, actually it's my husband who values his privacy, is Rebecca's husband has a workshop in the garage so was there almost daily to get supplies etc. I didn't mind as the house faces the river.

This is our second year vacationing here with a mix of adults and kids. The property is so beautiful and beautifully maintained. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is well stocked with cookware and great for cooking in. There are ample places to congregate with friends and family and others to spend quiet time reading or drawing. The pool is great for a low tide swip and jumping in the river at high tide was the focal point of each day. Town is an easy drive (or kayak) away with great grocery options and there are wonderful places to discover throughout the region. Favorites for us included Muscongus Bay Lobster Co. and Coveside in South Bristol. We also enjoyed a brief afternoon looking at antiques in Wiscasset. There are tons of local preserves for easy hiking and you may catch sight of seals just a brief, easy, kayak trip away from the doc. We can't imagine a summer week away anywhere else.
