Fantastic

5 of 5
Last August, my husband, small dog and I came to the cabin for two wonderful weeks. The cabin is spacious, very clean and comfortable. The well equiped kitchen had all we needed to make our meals which we ate at a table over looking the river. The living room is large with lots of table space for our books, guides and maps. The bed is very comfortable with a skylight over head and a bathroom just through the door. There is a wonderful deck also looking over the river which we spent hours on reading and viewing birds including a bald eagle. The yard is spacious with more chairs. There is a private dock with kayaks; we paddled both ways on the river enjoying so much beauty. The cottage is on a dirt road for great walking with both water views and woods, blackberries too. Downtown is nearby with a fabulous used bookstore behind the library. CDs were 3 for a dollar. We bought bags of books and CDs. There are good books in the house too. The rising Tide is a wonderful natural food store with organic food and bulk. They have a farmer's market too. We love Rockland and Rockport for their fabulous museums though the Rockport museum will be moving to Rockland soon. Rockland has a huge farmers market and so much more to see and do. One day we went to Brunswick to go to the wonderful Bowdoin College Art Museum. Damariscotta is a great jumping off place as there is so much in the area including the ocean. Our only complaint, actually it's my husband who values his privacy, is Rebecca's husband has a workshop in the garage so was there almost daily to get supplies etc. I didn't mind as the house faces the river.

Perfect!

5 of 5
My husband and I along with our chocolate lab booked this property last minute for a fall trip to Maine. What a perfect place to spend a week! The cottage itself is arranged very well and provides a simple, laid-back atmosphere for relaxing in the evenings. We were also impressed with how clean the cottage was upon our arrival. Outside, the lot is wooded and peaceful. The road leading up to the cottage is gravel, and the property is located at the end, so there is absolutely no road noise. The dock is perfect for relaxing and enjoying the lake. The water is crystal clear and easily accessible. There is also a swim platform for community use. The owners live directly next door, and were friendly but non intrusive. It was an easy experience booking, paying, etc., and we really appreciated the owner's daughter Chris meeting us on arrival and showing us around the property. She made us feel right at home! The location can't be beat - great for northward exploring and convenient to everything (route 1, Hannaford, Damariscotta, etc.). Also, we had wireless internet that worked perfectly as well as cell reception (AT&T). For the location, pet friendliness and ease and comfort of the cottage, this was the perfect place for our vacation. We hope to return next summer!

Peaceful Getaway

5 of 5
My family, consisting of five adults, spent a week at this wonderful lakefront home and we couldn’t have been happier. There was plenty of space for all of us and the cabin was clean and well equipped. It has a beautiful view of the lake from the deck, a great swimming doc, and a canoe for the guests to use. It’s a very private and peaceful location. We enjoyed the cute town of Damariscotta, about 10 minutes away, and were 30 minutes away from Pemaquid Point Lighthouse, which was my favorite destination to visit. The owner was very easy to work with and was eager to offer helpful information about the area. We had a great vacation and I would highly recommend this rental property to anyone visiting Maine.
