Beautiful!

4 of 5
Well this is the second time my wife and I have stayed here over the last few years and it didn't disappoint. We both absolutely love Cape Porpoise and this place is perfectly positioned to enjoy everything the area has to offer. We'll be back that's for sure. The praise being said, we both agreed that having a working stove in the cooler days would be awesome but we understand why it might not be usable. Secondly, it might be time for new couches. The ones in the living room were very dirty on our arrival but luckily we had sheets with us to put on them so we could use them. We do still love the place and the issues were very minor. Thanks for the chance to stay!!!

Fantastic!

5 of 5
Just returned very grudgingly from our delightful, restful week at the Fish House. What a fantastic vacation spot! The house is completely charming and the deck is really the highlight. We spent many hours on the deck, doing the arduous job of watching the tide come in right underneath us. It was also an awesome spot for nighttime meteor-gazing. The bedrooms are, indeed, cozy ... the smaller room (and the stairway) was a little tight for our 6' tall teenager, but my husband and I were delighted with our room. Beds and linens were top-notch and very comfortable. The kitchen is ... yes, small. So, eat your breakfast on the deck and then go eat lobster rolls and seafood chowder at the chowder house down the street. :) I was a little wary of the "rustic" bathroom, but was pleasantly surprised. It's clean, the shower's good, no worries there. The town of Cape Porpoise is tiny, quiet and charming - quite a relief after our traffic-clogged arrival trip through Kennebunkport. The short trip to beautiful Goose Rocks beach was always a treat. The market in town is walking distance and very well-supplied - and not crazy expensive, either. After 2 days my husband was ready to re-book for many consecutive summers ... I'm sure we'll be back!
