Magical!

5 of 5
What a remarkably wonderful unique place. This beautiful cottage (and second small stone "annex") was such a treat to visit and the grounds are everything they describe plus more. Right at the doorstep is the tennis courts, gardens and fields looking out over the Atlantic and on the other side, a sweet pond and beautiful woods everywhere. You can put your kayak in at the private dock down the road and drive through the estate to a boardwalk and gorgeous private beach. Our dog was able to run leash free - a real treat. We couldn't believe it all! The location is great too - 15 minutes really to Portland and super close to all the other beaches around. I bet in the summer we could have swam across the tidal river to Higgins Beach. The hosts are very attentive and the house was very clean and well maintained - thank you for sharing your home!

Quaint and Cozy, lots of character!

4 of 5
We stayed with our 2,3 yr old sons. The location is great. I was so pleased to see it nestled among other well maintained and beautiful homes. This has obviously been a loved and cared for family cottage for many generations. It is very basic, but not overly rustic and had lots of nice touches to make our stay pleasant. We live in a two story home, but my kids did find the stairs a challenge so it may be better suited to a slightly older kids who won't peg your heart rate every time they go near the steps! But hey, your vacation. Choose your own adventure. Over all for price, location and great owners who responded quickly to any question we had, this is a great find on HomeAway. Thank You!

Very relaxing

5 of 5
We stayed here with some friends for a very relaxing weekend. Our friends were getting married at the Inn by the Sea so this was very close. We loved relaxing on the porch over looking the ocean and the beach. We went to the The Great Lost Bear for some excellent food and beer, followed by Barreled Souls for more great craft beer. Karen is very responsive and we have no complaints. Thank you!
