BEAUTIFUL COTTAGE BY THE SEA

5 of 5
We spent a week at this cottage with our two young kids and had a lovely time. It is very peaceful, on a private lane with great ocean views, but near Scarborough and Crescent Beach and only 15 minutes from Portland. The cottage is very cute and well maintained, and my kids loved the backyard and the toys in the garage. Everything we needed was there, including linens and towels, a pack n play for my son, and laundry facilities in the kitchen (which was essential for beach days). There is a grocery a few minutes away as well as a great ice cream shop (Kettle Cove). The owner was also very helpful and easy to work with. Overall, highly recommended.

PERFECT!

5 of 5
WOW! location, location, location! Oceanfront, unbelievable sunsets, privacy ( no abutting houses) and tranquility. Our family of 5 have rented numerous houses over the years and by far this rental was the cleanest (spotless) and well equipped house we have ever rented. The bedding was all new and sublime. You felt like the first person whoever slept there. I am a rental agent in a very large firm with six offices who specialize in summer rentals in RI. This owner has vacation rentals down to a science! Karen, we will be back!!! Thank you, The Dwyer Family

AN OASIS OF REAL MAINE LIVING--PERFECT WHATEVER THE SUMMER WEATHER...

5 of 5
We rented for a week in July, and we had the usual Maine weather mix for that time of year. On hot days the cabin cooled nicely (many fans and large screened windows). It was a rare 92 degrees in Portland when we arrived, and we watched the car thermometer drop to 82 by the time we got to the cape! On cool rainy days, we had everything we needed: books, games (beautiful chess and cribbage sets), stereo that takes mp3, video games for the kids and a kitchen with everything you need. The place is so cozy and homey that you don't feel like you have to escape if it's not a beachy day. My 10 year old son loved sleeping on the porch couch (even though he had a bed.) As advertised, the place makes you feel like you are having a vacation early in the 20th century, with hardwood floors and electric lantern lamps, yet all the modern conveniences are there and the wireless (internet) works great. Steve was very easy to work with and responded quickly to any questions. We didn't lack anything while we were there, but if we did, I know that he would have sprung to help us out. All the area attractions are high quality. We loved the local restaurants, and it's easy to get groceries, drugs store items, etc. We enjoyed Two Lights Park (walking distance) for rocky shore views and Crescent Beach (a mile's drive) gave us a good dose of the sand beach experience. We will be back.
