Perfect Place for Family/Friend Vacation!

5 of 5
My fiance and I visited with friends for a week, and enjoyed every minute of it. The hosts had stocked necessities in the cupboards and provided plenty of information on sites to see in the area, which we appreciated and took full advantage of. The house was clean, and had plenty of beds for sleeping more than our crew. The property itself is beautifully landscaped with a flat court area for ball games, and plenty of flowers. The view from the front porch is just stunning, too. The kitchen is well-equipped, which was nice for our group as while we did eat out plenty, we welcomed the opportunity to prepare fresh meals at the house with farmer's market purchases. We had a fantastic time enjoying the incredible food, chocolate and wine pairings at Cellardoor Winery (which you can see from the front porch). We also visited Sweetgrass Distillery and Savage Oakes Winery for tastings, which inevitably led to purchasing. Fresh pizza, delicate breakfast treats and fresh farm ingredients from Dolce Vita were a pleasant surprise in the area, and quickly rose as a favorite way to start the day. I also recommend Fiore, a few towns over, for a tempting selection of flavored vinegars and oils. The blackberry ginger balsamic is worth the trip alone. There are just so many places to get good food! The Lincolnville Beach is so close, was never overly crowded, and our feet easily found a smooth path into the water, plenty of sand to walk and lay on. Hiking opportunities abound, and we went nearly every day. There's also a pond down the street, swimmable, in convenient walking distance. Overall, the house was a breath of fresh air, the area filled with great experiences to be had, and we are definitely looking forward to returning sometime soon! We didn't get to see the dahlia garden, but that's definitely on my list. Thanks for a great time!
