Perfect place to get away!

5 of 5
My husband booked this house for our anniversary. My first impression was that it was exactly what I imagined a rural Maine farmhouse to be- rolling fields and woods, glimpses of the ocean as we picked our way up back roads along the coast, going through a "tree tunnel", and right when I thought perhaps he was pranking me and taking me to a dead end in the middle of nowhere, we turned a corner and there was the house! Fits the pictures exactly. We were greeted by the proprietress, Robyn, who treated us to a full tour and history of the place. It's hard to tell the renovated rooms from the originals, a lot of antique details have been maintained and it's clear that a lot of care has gone into the preservation of this gem. The beds are comfy and appear to have new mattresses/pillows, clean and soft linens and towels, cozy den for watching a movie at night, well stocked all around! Had a great time preparing picnic lunches, happy hour goodies and suppers in the sunny kitchen with the mountain views, reading a book and enjoying a beer or cup of tea on the porch, exploring the woods and fields, and on a few occasions making the 10-15 min drive into either Camden or Belfast for shopping, ice cream, happy hour, dinner etc. We will definitely be back!

Take time & visit this beautiful retreat...a must!

5 of 5
I recently returned from Maine; this apartment is absolutely fabulous, very clean and fresh...it has everything you need & more....the hosts, Denise & Andy were very welcoming & very attentive...towels were extra fluffy & plentiful....I would definitely recommend this place to any family wishing to visit Camden. The locality has beautiful views & you are situated 5 minutes from Camden town where shops & pubs are plentiful & a gallery which is both friendly & quaint. When I visit Maine again I will make a point of returning to this beautiful homely space.

Perfect in-town place to stay

5 of 5
Just a block off the main drag it is ideal for exploring Camden, which in turn is situated nicely for day trips throughout the Mid-Coast area. Acadia National Park is about two hours north; lighthouses, lobster pounds (recommend McLoon's in Spruce Head, great location), and the Coastal Maine Gardens in Boothbay are within 90 minutes the other way. Apartment offers much more space than standard motel or studio rooms, recently renovated with good quality fixtures and furnishings. Unit has 1 1/2 baths including its own laundry, kitchen has everything you would need. Owner is nearby and can advise if you are not familiar with the area. Would definitely look to stay here again next time visiting Maine.
