Close and convenient

4 of 5
We chose this apartment because of its location. It was a 2 minute walk to the lobster festival. The apartment was small but cozy. The bed is full size so made it a tight squeeze for 2 people but we managed. There was a parking spot for 1 car across the street which was convenient. They had wifi and roku hooked up to the tv. There was no regular tv or cable so you couldn't watch any local news. They have a small fridge, microwave, hotpot for use. Only sink was in bathroom so don't expect to cook or clean. Overall we had decent experience. If we ever came back to rockland it would be for 1-2 nights and I would stay in Camden which is a 15 minute drive .

Wonderful rental close to downtown Camden, ME

5 of 5
This 2 bedroom apartment was perfect for myself and my mom. It was exceptionally clean and well kept. The view of the bay from the large windows and balcony are wonderful. We utilized the full kitchen for breakfast and light lunches. Jenny and Eric are very welcoming and friendly. They gave us great advice on day sailing cruises, restaurants, and other attractions close by. Jenny provides a continental breakfast daily of homemade pastries among other choices. I will absolutely stay here again with my next visit to Camden. I highly recommend this VRBO listing as you will not be disappointed.

A Home Away from Home

5 of 5
We (myself recently retired, my wife, and an 80-year old friend) found the Apt at Ferncliff to be better than advertised. The kitchen was surprisingly well stocked, not only with utensils but also with foodstuffs (spices, condiments, peanut butter, etc.) such that we did not use many of the items we had brought with us based on our stays elsewhere. The apartment was comfortable and well furnished - we lacked for nothing. Denise and Andy made us feel very welcome and were most helpful throughout the week with recommendations for restaurants, stores, and activities. Their very friendly Shepard mix "Yuko" had adopted us as members of the family by the second day. They offered, mid week, to do any laundry we might want washed and offered the use of the washer/dryer any time we needed it. The focus of our week in Camden was to do some sea kayaking in the mid-coast Maine area and the Apt at Ferncliff was ideally situated for that. We could be at the Camden boat launch in 5 minutes, and in Rockland or Lincolnville launch ramps in perhaps 15 minutes. Despite being so conveniently located, it is in a very secluded heavily forested site on a gravel lane that affords a lot of privacy. The second bedroom (with a twin and a double bed) is upstairs and the full bath and the half bath are on the first floor. The full bath is integral with the first floor bedroom and the half bath best services the upstairs bedroom. The flight of stairs was not equipped with a handrail and while this was not a problem for our 80-year old friend as he stayed only one night (he spent the rest of the week sailing on one of Camden's windjammers), had he been there the full week the absence of a handrail might have been a concern during night time visits to the bathroom. I mentioned this to Andy and he said he would consider adding one. All in all it was a wonderful week and we were very glad we had chosen Ferncliff from among the choices available. We would definitely stay there again and would recommend it to others considering staying in the Camden area.
