Beautiful little house

5 of 5
This house was a great find! Set back from the road and nestled in woods, it is very secluded while only 4 miles or so from the Lincolnville beach on Penobscot Bay. Everything was extremely well-finished, clean, and worked well. The kitchen/great room was well stocked with more than the basics; spices, teas, coffee, lobster-eating necessities, books, pillows, park passes, etc. The owner was available via cellphone when I had a question. Hummingbirds came to the window boxes. All our meals in town and in Camden were excellent. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone.

Peaceful retreat in a charming cabin

5 of 5
We had a very lovely time at Avonlea! It was so peaceful to wake up and look at the lake every morning out of the big picture window. The cabin had everything we needed for a relaxing week away. We kayaked around the lake, saw loons and ducks, went hiking at nearby Bald Mountain, and took day trips to Camden and Rockport on the coast. The town of Washington is a quiet small town with very scenic back road drives. The only downside was it rained a lot during our week, but we made the best of it by sitting around the woodstove and doing puzzles at night. This was exactly what we were looking for and I am very much looking forward to returning to Avonlea again!

perfection Abby and JoAnn

5 of 5
Having chosen several accommodations on our autumn journey through New England we both agree this was our very favorite. Josh was a fabulous host providing information about great restaurants and sights as well as giving us valuable insider tips about the area. This property has clearly been lovingly renovated with exquisite attention to detail, beautiful artwork, and impeccable design. From the filtered sunlight poring into the spacious open concept living/kitchen area to the quiet bedroom and elegantly designed bathroom/laundry area - the level of comfort and serenity was perfect! The property was perfectly maintained with attention to every detail. We would certainly recommend this property to friends and family and hope one day to return for a longer stay. Thank you to Josh!
