It's difficult to describe how thoroughly we've enjoyed our stay on School Street and how much we're going to miss it! Jason and Ericka made us feel right at home immediately. The day of our arrival, we found cookies at our doorstep, and the next day we happened upon some freshly picked blackberries! The apartment is so comfortably furnished, perfectly maintained, and has a lovely, rustic feel. It's also quite large. Pictures can't quite convey just how spacious all of the rooms are. It would be impossible to find a more convenient place to vacation in the Midcoast region. The apartment is a very short walk from everything you need--Wild Oats bakery, a Hannaford supermarket, Little Dog Coffee, the Amtrak station, and all of the stores of downtown Brunswick. But when we were in the mood to adventure beyond Maine Street, Jason and Ericka were full of great tips on sites to see--some of our favorites were Simpson's Point, Popham Beach, Wolf's Neck Park, Harpswell, and the trails behind Bowdoin College. Brunswick also has some fantastic little restaurants, and it's free of the parking hassles of downtown Portland. Our favorites were the Dolphin Marina (a great place to watch a sunset in Harpswell), Frontier Cafe, and Libby's for the requisite lobster roll. This apartment is the ideal place to spend the summer months in Maine, and Jason and Ericka are the most attentive and kind hosts you'll find!

Our family of 2 adults and 2 teen girls stayed for 4 days while we attended a Bowdoin college sporting event. We were literally 5 minutes away, which made running up to the college to watch our son compete a snap. we also were able to easily amuse the girls with the hot tub, multiple media options, and Brunswick activities. We got donuts at Frosty's and Gelato at Gelato Fiasco every day. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook fresh Maine seafood. Bed linens were excellent quality, and there were lots of comfy couches and cozy corners to sit in.The three very separate well-appointed bedrooms all have TV, so plenty of privacy if desired. We all enjoyed the hot tub, and it was also nice to stay in a vacation home where everything looks nice and feels comfortable, instead of being odds and ends nobody wants. I've stayed in many units, condos, and apartments, and this was one of the best decorated and most comfortable. The owners bent over backwards to accommodate us, including a flexible check out time when one of the girls became ill. Security deposit was returned promptly. The only downside is that the one bathroom is downstairs, and the stairs might be tough for an elderly or unfit person. I'd bring a gate if I had a toddler.

The Hayloft Cottage is a spectacular stay!! It is so inviting & cozy, and the pictures don't do this place justice. All of the little touches did not go un-noticed. The family is lovely and welcoming. The Johnson's would like to thank you for your hospitality.
