This duplex home is centrally located with convenient access to all Booth Bay Harbor has to offer. It's an older home and not terribly spacious for 4 people, but has been fairly well-maintained, with modest furniture and decorations. We found it to be neat and tidy. Bedding & towels were provided, which was a nice amenity. The kitchen came with all the essentials, including dishes and cooking accessories, but no outdoor grill. The kitchen is good size with a separate dining room. The living room is quite small, but did have a newer large flat-screen TV. There are 2 bedrooms and 1 bath on the second floor. The master was a decent size with a queen bed, but we found the mattress to be somewhat hard & uncomfortable. The second bedroom has a day bed, with a pull-out trundle. The home is located on somewhat of a busy street, so be prepared for traffic, but the flip side is it's within a very short distance of the foot bridge that leads to the center of Booth Bay Harbor. There are tons of shops, eateries, restaurants and of course magnificent views of the ocean. Entertainment options are abundant, everything from whale watching to chartered fishing to kayak rentals. The pace is a little bit slower than you'd find at some of the other oceanfront vacation spots in Maine, but if you love quaint & charming, this is the place to visit. The owner was great to deal with. She made it very easy for us to book a week at the last minute, her rates were quite reasonable and she seemed genuinely interested in providing us with a quality vacation experience at her home. If you are looking for a place that has the basic necessities of home, but more importantly gives you access to one of the most beautiful locations in Maine, then you should consider this rental property.
