What a perfect place to spend some time on the coast of Maine! My wife and I just returned from spending four nights here with her parents and our 3-year-old daughter. But believe me, we didn't want to leave! The house is in a perfect location for exploring Maine's mid-coast: very secluded and quiet, with direct waterfront and wonderful views, but only minutes from Route 1 and the charming village of Wiscasset. Reid State Park (with it's beautiful beaches) is half an hour away, as is the hustle and bustle of Boothbay Harbour. The house itself is immaculate, and photos can't properly reveal how open and spacious it is inside. And nearly every room has huge windows to let in the light, the breeze, and the inviting views of the bay. The generously sized back deck is a great place to relax as well. The homeowners, Bob and Kathy, provide just about everything you could imagine needing for your stay; there was even a bag of coffee thoughtfully provided so that we could brew some coffee right away when we arrived. Oh, and the hammock is awesome! All in all, it was simply the perfect spot for our vacation: a relaxing retreat which is nevertheless close to everything!
