A JEWEL OF A LOCATION

5 of 5
We just loved it- everything! Salt Pond is beautiful - bring binoculars and look for the eagles and warblers and blue heron! The apartment was immaculate with so many special touches - comfortable and colorful. It was thoughtfully decorated. The Blue Hill area is lovely with many places to explore and full of talented artists and artisans. Spectacular Acadia is a short drive away, but it was oh-so-nice to get back to our serene getaway in Blue Hill! Many thanks to Wendy and Ken for sharing offering this opportunity to get to know this area of the coast. They were so responsive to our questions, etc. from the beginning and made our first experience with Home Away a real 5 star plus experience!

PERFECTLY LOVELY COTTAGE

5 of 5
Our family of four (including two teenagers) stayed in the Peter's Hill Guest Cottage for 5 nights in July/August, and cannot praise the experience highly enough. It is simply, but beautifully appointed, very clean, and supremely comfortable. We really lacked for nothing. The owners live onsite and are perfectly charming, available without being intrusive, and with a knack for the little touches that make a difference. We loved sleeping with the windows open every night, to enjoy the cool night air and the peaceful, wooded surroundings. Blue Hill is a quintessential Maine town, right by the water with local potters, good food, community theater, etc., but without the crowds of Bar Harbor. We spent much of our time in Acadia and other parts of Mt. Desert Island, which are easily accessible from the cottage. We hated to leave.
