Good for families

5 of 5
We were looking for a comfortable place to stay with our five-month-old that was close to trails, views, and towns. The property met those requirements and then some. We enjoyed how well-kept the cabin was. In addition to being tastefully decorated, the bed and bed linens were extremely comfortable -- a key point for new parents running a sleep deficit. We travel frequently and enjoy the small touches that make a place feel like home. The cabin was stocked with family-friendly movies (and one copy of Silence of the Lambs), games, and dry goods, so it felt like we were staying at a friends' house rather than a soulless timeshare or condo. We took our little guy hiking on the Mount Will loop and up to Grafton Notch State Park. Both were enjoyable. North Conway and the Presidentials are a nice day trip away, and Gorham, NH is a fun side trip if you're looking for a little more action than we found in Bethel. (I'm assuming it's shoulder season, too late for river sports and leaf-peeping and too early for skiing.) We'd stay again in a heartbeat if we were in the area.

Perfect Place for a fun and relaxing vacation!

The cabin was perfect in every way. The beds and furniture were all comfortable. We loved the gameroom and playing badminton outside. River swimming was lots of fun. Bethel offers plenty of services without being overly commercial. Our thanks to Sara for a wonderful vacation!

Lovely week at Songo Pond

4 of 5
Lovely house, big beautiful Master Bedroom and Master Bathroom, perfect for couple alone or with babies or kids over 10. Daytime traffic whizzes by on road, close to house, so not recommended for toddlers or young kids. Mostly quiet evenings and night. Excellently appointed kitchen. Second and third bedrooms not so good for Seniors (OK for kids), no cross ventilation. Plenty of fans, tho. Great spot on pond, peaceful and comfortable. Love the view from the porch and reading on the dock. Easy put in for kayaks & canoes. Shallow for easy swimming.
