Loved it! Quaint, quiet, beautiful

5 of 5
We had a fantastic time. What a beautiful time of the year to be in Maine (September) and such a quaint cottage. Enjoyed the big deck, and even though across the street we had a partial view of the water and enjoyed access down the steps. The cottage is obviously well maintained, new water heater and laundry, quaint claw-foot tub. Lots of room. We will definitely be back!

Maine Dream

5 of 5
This is a wonderful cottage - meticulously clean and comfortable - with everything a couple (or small family) could possibly want. The stairs are somewhat steep so be careful. The owner is extremely helpful if needed but otherwise completely non-obtrusive. The weather cooperated this time and we had a fun time exploring the countryside, State parks, etc., then stopping by the local lobster pound for our dinner! We would love to return to this area and when doing so would definitely rent this cottage again. Loved it!!!!

Great Central Coast Location

5 of 5
Stayed here for a week in late July 2013. The tasteful, immaculate cottage was the perfect size for my husband, two teenage sons, and me. It was a great location to "spoke out" to other areas of the central coast. We made day trips to Acadia Nat'l Park/Bar Harbor, Camden, Rockport, Rockland (Farnsworth Art Museum), Maine State Prison Store (Thomaston), Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Boothbay Harbor, Damriscotta (great italian sandwich deli there), Wiscasset (Butterstamp Workshop -adorable), Marshall Point Lighthouse (featured in "Forrest Gump" movie)/Port Clyde, Fort Knox/Penoscot Narrows Bridge Observatory, and on, and on. The area is so rich with things to see & do, you will never be able to finish your list. We arrived at the beginning of wild blueberry season and enjoyed trying them at the roadside stands nearby. Best clam chowder we had was at Angler's restaurant, down the road from the cottage in Searsport. We tried lobster in many places, but the absolute best place was Young's Lobster Pound, within walking distance of the cottage. Young's is great because of the casual, BYOB, festive family atmosphere. We ate there two nights in a row! We also enjoyed walking into Belfast over the footbridge and attending Art Walk night (on Fridays in the summer), as well as the funky, old-fashioned movie house to go see a movie one day when it rained. Many fabulous memories were created on this trip. We definitely would stay there again, a great place!!!
