Comfortable home, great location, friendly owners

5 of 5
Clean, comfortable home; great location; friendly, accessible owners ... My colleagues and I were in Belfast the past two years for a week long educational session and needed accomodations and this place fit the bill perfectly. Hopefully we'll get to return this year and for several years to come! The Belfast area is beautiful with plenty of excellent dining option and fun things to do. I have nothing but good things to say about my time spent in this home and my ... Renn and Jon were fantastic to deal with.

Lovely view, large beautiful home

5 of 5
This is a large beautiful home with a lovely view of the bridge heading north out of Belfast. Each morning I'd watch to see when the man living in a lobster boat across the bay would light up his fire, presumably to cook breakfast, and then glance up at the painting on the wall of a similar looking boat. We spent the day doing various things in Belfast which is a perfect Maine community- enough art stores and good food to enjoy, but not yet densely packed with tourist trap type stores. Also the nearby Young's lobster pound (http://youngslobsterpound.webs.com/) was excellent. We took our 3.5 pound lobsters home to cook but I very much look forward to eating at Young's on a future outing as they have what appears to be an excellent rustic upstairs room right on the ocean. The home was huge even four the 9 of us who stayed there and every room has a beautiful view of the water. We didn't get to take full advantage of the piano but it was in tune. Also the weather was a bit too cold to take advantage of the grill or outdoor patios but those looked beautiful as well--and also the kayaks would have been great fun in the river had my friend's been a bit more adventuresome (willing to risk getting a bit chilly). We'll definitely be back.

Inspiring, delightful, relaxing, getaway. Excellent location. A true Maine experience.

Very charming and comfortable place to hang your hat for a relaxing vacation. The porch overlooking the park and bay was roomy and enticing, great for watching the tide and boats come and go….The location can’t be beat. The downtown area is walking distance and is vibrant and eclectic with lots of shops and places to eat. Belfast is less than an hour to Acadia Natl Park and we made a couple of trips there for some serious hiking and sightseeing. The Saturday Farmers market was a great find, as was Young’s Lobster pound which we enjoyed more than once! Although the upstairs main bathroom was sufficient, it was quite small and made showering a bit tight for a larger person. The lower level ½ bathroom was handy and nicely done. Having the use of a washer and dryer was a nice bonus. The kitchen and main living area was open and spacious and made a great gathering and eating area. The furniture also was adequate however the sofa was elevated on some blocks that made it a particularly precarious perch. The bedrooms were comfortable and we had everything we needed. We received a nice welcome from the owner by phone the day we arrived. We had minor difficulty with the CATV but the wifi made it possible to look up some troubleshooting info and we were able to remedy the situation. The owners/representative were responsive to our needs as well and called us back to confirm we had the problem fixed. With that porch and view though, your TV watching will be at a minimum! All in all we enjoyed our stay immensely and would recommend this place to our friends. I feel like we enjoyed a true Maine experience! Thank you for a great trouble free stay!
