Heaven On Earth

5 of 5
I tell people I live on the banks of Tilden Pond in secluded Maine and spend the other 50 weeks of the year traveling elsewhere. It's hard to describe just how wonderful this place is and how naturally it fits as soon as you arrive. The silence, as they say, is deafening, save for the lapping water and the occasional loon call. The air is sweet, the view stunning and anything you should ever need is just minutes away. Read, nap, day-trip, eat, explore, really live. The way, as they say, life should be. Steve and Carol are wonderful folks and friends and will make sure your stay is a good one. We loved it & have rebooked it again next year!!

5 of 5
My husband & I and our well-travelled dog, Lucy loved it. This cute cottage is very close to the ocean and the view is spectacular!! The cottage is rented through the Fireside Inn & Suites on the same property & the staff there is always great! We also had use of the indoor pool/sauna at the hotel. Belfast is an awesome city with so much to offer. Restaurants, brew pub, culture, farmer's market, community rowing, shopping & the beauty of international sailboats/yachts at port. We will be back next year!!!!

Beautiful cottage on the bay

5 of 5
We just spent seven wonderful nights at Ocean Cottage - and can't say enough about this beautiful property and central location. The pictures and description don’t do it justice; it’s more beautiful in person. At the cottage, we spent time cooking in the fully-stocked kitchen, relaxing on the beautiful twin decks and even took the beach chairs down by the water for a lazy afternoon reading in the sunshine. Every detail was covered – and labels throughout the cottage made it easy to find what we needed. Breakfast and coffee on the lower deck became one of our favorite daily rituals. And the view – amazing . . . from the sun rising over the water to the fog rolling in across the bay and even fishing boats pulling up lobster traps. For the location, it is situated between Camden (25 minutes) and Belfast (10 minutes) on a quiet, mostly residential road. It was close to Rt 1, and a great place to start our daily adventures to Acadia National Park (about two hours) and throughout the mid-coast region from small fishing villages to the local wineries. (Who knew that Maine produced so much great wine? It was mostly fruit based, versus grape. Try the blueberry - delicious.) The owner also provided a great book of recommendations, many of which we tried . . . along with about every lobster shack in the area. Lastly, the owner, David was very responsive and easy to work with – and there is no doubt that he takes pride in his beautiful property and making sure guests have what they need for an enjoyable vacation. I know I’ll be dreaming about our wonderful vacation for a long time . . . and will hopefully be back soon. Thanks David!
