Another Great Stay!

5 of 5
Mid-coast Maine is a great place for a vacation any time of the year and Robbin's Nest is the perfect vacation home from which to enjoy it.The location overlooking the river offers great views with the large windows inviting you to just take it all in. And even with 9 adults in the group there was plenty of room in the spacious home for each of us to find our own space when we weren't cooking, eating, and having fun together. The home is clean, well maintained, and comfortably furnished. The kitchen is well appointed and open to the dining room and living room -- perfect for socializing while cooking! Although the weather can get a bit chilly in Dec. there are still plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities in the area -- including the scenic and relaxing walk along the inlet starting just outside the front door! As always, lobsters and clams from Young's dock were a treat along with all of the the fixings available close by at the Coop and Hannaford’s. We would love to come back in the warmer weather to take more advantage of the kayaks, the outdoor areas, and Belfast itself. Highly recommended!

Fabulous vacation retreat in Maine!

5 of 5
Our family throughly enjoyed our week long this August. From our first meeting with the owner, Mark to the very last day there wasn't anything lacking. The home is immaculate and beautifully furnished for everything from gourmet cooking to just relaxing. The grounds are breathtaking and there is even a canoe, kayak and paddleboat for our use. The location was perfect for our many day adventures up and down the coast and wonderful to come home to. I would recommend this vacation home anyone looking for the perfect Maine vacation!

Great Central Coast Location

5 of 5
Stayed here for a week in late July 2013. The tasteful, immaculate cottage was the perfect size for my husband, two teenage sons, and me. It was a great location to "spoke out" to other areas of the central coast. We made day trips to Acadia Nat'l Park/Bar Harbor, Camden, Rockport, Rockland (Farnsworth Art Museum), Maine State Prison Store (Thomaston), Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens, Boothbay Harbor, Damriscotta (great italian sandwich deli there), Wiscasset (Butterstamp Workshop -adorable), Marshall Point Lighthouse (featured in "Forrest Gump" movie)/Port Clyde, Fort Knox/Penoscot Narrows Bridge Observatory, and on, and on. The area is so rich with things to see & do, you will never be able to finish your list. We arrived at the beginning of wild blueberry season and enjoyed trying them at the roadside stands nearby. Best clam chowder we had was at Angler's restaurant, down the road from the cottage in Searsport. We tried lobster in many places, but the absolute best place was Young's Lobster Pound, within walking distance of the cottage. Young's is great because of the casual, BYOB, festive family atmosphere. We ate there two nights in a row! We also enjoyed walking into Belfast over the footbridge and attending Art Walk night (on Fridays in the summer), as well as the funky, old-fashioned movie house to go see a movie one day when it rained. Many fabulous memories were created on this trip. We definitely would stay there again, a great place!!!
