Very nice week at Moosehead Lake

              5 of 5
Despite getting a late start to our vacation and arriving after dark, we found the house with no issue based on the clear directions we received. My first impression of the house when entering was that this was probably one of the few rentals we've had that possibly looked nicer in person than in the pictures. Things were clean, the house was very spacious, and the decor was fantastic, especially the moose head displayed on the wall. The area was quiet, and the neighbors I met were very friendly. Within minutes of the house is Lily Bay State Park, that has a nice beach and hiking trails that bring you right down to some beautiful Moosehead Lake scenery. Also very close to the house is the famous B 52 crash site. It is a well marked drive up some dirt roads to a parking area, and then a short walk to the crash site. Our favorite part of the trip was canoeing and fishing on Prong Pond. Prong Pond is just across the main road from the house, and it is a great pond for canoeing, with many small islands and inlets to explore. If needed, canoes can be rented from Northwoods Outfitters in town, and they keep them locked up at the pond so no need to strap it to the roof and transport it. We also drove over to Moxie Falls, and one cool day hiked up Big Moose Mountain for some great views of the Moosehead region. We spent several evenings walking around Greenville, which has several restaurants and shops. One ice cream shop gave a free scoop to our dog, which made her day. I would recommend the house to anyone who wanted a quiet vacation in a scenic area.

              Our Favorite Lake House

              5 of 5
Beaver Cove and Mooshead Lake is our favorite vacation spot. It's so peaceful and beautiful. This was our third year renting this house. We absolutely love the location and the amenities. The house is very spacious and it was very clean when we arrived. We were vacationing with 3-5 adults and 4 kids and everyone was comfortable. We do bring a couple of blow up mattresses for the kids and set them up in the super large room over the garage. The only complaint we would have is that the mattress on the pull out sofa upstairs is totally shot and nobody got a good night sleep on it. We also bring our own skillet and use it for breakfast and other frying needs, since the frying pans are not in the best shape. The location of the house is perfect. It's only 15 min to Greenville and close to hiking spots. There is plenty to do and you'll never be bored. The owners are very nice and they always addressed any small problems we would have. We are looking forward to our next vacation there!!!
