Wonderful winter getaway in Bath, Maine! My wife and I, our two children (5, 3) and our mothers (54, 73) experienced the magic that is Bath in “true” Winter fashion. Shortly after we arrived and loaded up on groceries for the week we were hit with the first of two storms that would strike during our stay. In total, the two storms dropped close to 19 inches of snow on us. The home was nothing short of perfection. It was stocked full of cooking amenities, toiletries and a nice welcome basket complete with a chocolate moose. The owners recently installed a gas fireplace in the main living area, which was absolutely one of the best features of the home. The fireplace made for an especially warm and cozy environment. The view of the frozen bay and snow-covered trees was simply breath-taking. The home roads were plowed regularly and sufficiently enough (particularly for its remote location) for us to get out for our daily road trips to New Brunswick, Rockland and Camden (including a brisk hike up Mt. Battie.) If you can manage the hour drive, the shops in Camden and views atop Mt. Battie are some of the best in Mid-Coast Maine. Plenty of wonderful restaurants and shops in Bath as well as the aforementioned Towns. Bath is central to a lot of nearby destinations as well as secluded enough for getting away from it all. The only thing that could of made this trip any more wonderful would of been the spotting of a Moose … maybe next time! The home, the town, the surrounding areas and the owners, everything about this vacation rental was magical.
