A SPECIAL PLACE

5 of 5
This was a very homey and comfortable house. The living room is larger than it appears in pictures, and was great for my husband, daughter and I to unwind, read, play games and watch tv when the weather didn't cooperate or when we just wanted to relax. (The kitchen and upstairs were roomier than I expected, too.) The view from the living room picture window and deck was beautiful. We didn't tire of watching the lobster boats coming in and out of the harbor. Bernard is a quiet village where locals and summer people seem to happily coexist. Around Bernard, we checked out the library, took walks, (including to the "cobblestone" beach) and just hung out. We also explored parts of Acadia and Bar Harbor, and were always happy to return to the house. We hope to come back soon to this special spot on the "quiet side."

SO WONDERFUL!!!!

5 of 5
My family loved this cottage! It was the perfect place for us to stay with our three young children. They especially loved the safe, clean toys and the bunk beds. We loved the location-close to the Bass Harbor lighthouse and the Seawall, but also only a short drive to Bar Harbor. The house was immaculately cleaned and well organized. Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! We have wonderful vacation memories from this lovely cottage. I would highly recommend this home to my family and friends.

SCOTT AND EUNICE

5 of 5
We had a wonderful week in Bass Harbor staying at the Seamist Cottage. The house easily met all our needs as far as space and provisions. We were there with three kids including a one year old and a pack-and-play and high chair were even provided. There were tons of books, both children and adult, as well as some toys that kept our kids occupied during the down time at the house. There was plenty of room/beds for several members of our extended family as well. The house was older but very well kept and clean. The location was great-short walk or drive to Bass Harbor light house with amazing views, beautiful Acadia surrounding us, half hour drive from Bar Harbor and all the attractions there, short drive to many of the carriage trails, few minutes drive from several trails which my husband and I enjoyed hiking alone before the rest of the house woke up, and a grocery store ten minutes down the road, just to name a few perks of the location. Even for the less physically active members of our group there was a free shuttle bus funded by LLBean that made stops at the Bass Harbor post office which was visible from the house. The bus took you all over Acadia and Bar Harbor and you could come and go as you pleased. From the time leading up to our rental and throughout our week long stay, the owners were very responsive to our questions and requests. We made some great memories on our Maine vacation and will definitely be back, sooner rather than later.
