Peacefully Perfect (Others have said it all)

5 of 5
Our best stay at Acadia - Ever! If you want a very tasteful quiet place on the island with ZERO tourists to contend with and magnificent views, this is it. We agree with everything that has already been said by others

Home away from home!

5 of 5
I almost feel like the prior reviewer--I am afraid to give away this jewel to everyone out there! But I have to be honest and do right by the very kind and super-flexible owner Joan. We had a great stay for several days and nights in this super clean, extremely well taken care of house! I loved that there are no carpets as I have kids (we had 2 adults and 2 kids) with allergies. The house is very nicely painted, has brand new beds, bedding and mattresses--very comfortable! Beautiful, well equipped kitchen for all of your needs and is located in a beautiful, quiet street of Bass Harbor, where you enjoy the view of the water right from your window and patio. It was VERY convenient for our day trips to Bar Harbor and Acadia. Located walking distance from a restaurant and has new washer and dryer, which was also great with 2 little boys! We LOVED our stay. We have a few more places on our list to visit before we come back but we will definitely return here and recommend to all who ask. Please note, just as another reviewer noted, the place only has one small TV, so if you are looking for HDTV and surround system you won't find it here, but we actually enjoyed that too. The small TV with a VCR was perfect to entertain the kids at breakfast after which we were out for the rest of the day and returned for late dinners at home... What else do you need in such a beautiful place? As I mentioned Joan was super accommodating, super nice and flexible. We took some pictures and would love to share them (once I figure out how to upload to here)! (Joan, sorry it took us a while to post our review).

McKinley Cottage-Bass Harbor

Charming cottage with a close view of the harbor + lobster boats. Easy access to Swan Island ferry + Acadia Natl. Park. Owner is very hospitable + available. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone!
