GREAT OWNERS; HOPE TO RETURN

5 of 5
This little house is well located on the quietside(i.e. not in Bar Harbor), and has tremendously helpful landlords who live right next door. They went above and beyond in the materials they provided in the rental and in communicating with us. The house was clean, and the bedrooms had what you needed. The master bedroom is actually quite nice and seems to have been recently updated. I did wish the living room furniture was more comfortable for 4 people to hang out, but we just pulled in some kitchen chairs and it was fine. It isn't like we spent much time there any way. The lobster we got from the landlords was awesome-can't get any fresher than that day! Acadia itself is wonderful, and choosing to stay on the quietside is the way to go in my opinion-Bar Harbor crowds and traffic aren't fun to deal with.

LOVELY HOME ON THE QUIETSIDE OF MDI

5 of 5
My husband and I visited MDI in June. When we were looking for a place to stay we knew we wanted to stay on the quiet side and stumbled upon this home in Bass Harbor. The home is lovely and well maintained; and Carl was responded in a timely manner to answer any questions. We enjoyed star gazing in the bedroom/loft at night, sitting in the three season room at night, and the jacuzzi after a long day of hiking and biking. We enjoyed going to Southwest Harbor and Thurston's which are closeby and very happy we did not stay close to Bar Harbor (tourist central). Would highly recommend this home if looking to stay on the quietside of the island!

PERFECT PLACE FOR A QUIET GETAWAY!

5 of 5
The Harbor Cottage is on the "quietside" of Mount Desert Island, but is only 20 minutes from Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. The owner Roger is an excellent host and made the entire process easy, from rental agreement to check out. He's happy to help with recommendations for local restaurants and things to see on the island. The main house is perfectly sized for two, with a cozy living room and kitchen. The master bedroom is large and comfortable with a deck overlooking the harbor. The downstairs bathroom, with jetted tub, is very comfortable and spacious. There is plenty of light throughout the house due to the sky lights and large windows. The property was clean and immaculately maintained, we felt at home right away! The house is only 5 minutes away from the Bass Harbor lighthouse, which has spectacular views and walking trails. We would definitely recommend this house to friends and family and hope to visit again one day. If you are looking for a quiet getaway on the edge of the water this is the house for you!
