                  Cozy Cottage on Western Bay

                  5 of 5
We had such a great time staying in this cozy cottage. The sunroom overlooking the water was my favorite place to sit. We saw seals playing and the fog rolling in at night. At high tide, you can hear the water from the master bedroom which just lulled us to sleep. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals if you want. Although there is not a washer and dryer, the kitchen sink is plenty big to rinse out a few items of clothes. Also, there is no wifi or TV which we thought was a bonus and we didn't miss either one at all! There is a radio so we listened to music. Cell service (Verizon) worked great! You can rent kayaks from a local company that will deliver right to the cabin (or bring your own) so we enjoyed the Western Bay waterfront access from the cabin. The cabin is located on a very quiet road and only 7 miles from the main entrance to Acadia National Park, 9 miles to Bar Harbor, and 10 miles to Ellsworth. We did not have any traffic to deal with. Lots of restaurants nearby and an IGA grocery that has everything else you might need. They even sell spirits and Maine's famous blueberry wine. Thank you Pat and Bob for sharing your cabin and we hope we can get to Maine again soon. There are many more hiking trails that we need to do.

                  Great Vacation!

                  5 of 5
We loved this cottage! It was very close to Bar Harbor but back in a wooded section that was very secluded. The pictures on the web site don't do this cabin justice. The cottage was also clean. After a day of hiking, biking, kayaking or fishing we loved coming back to "Little Acorn" to hang out. The front screened in area was great for meals, morning coffee or playing games late at night. Two barred owls hung around for a few days. We also saw deer and frogs in the creek directly behind it. We loved walking to Compass Harbor - a short path from Little Acorn. It was easy to walk or bike into town - no need to find a parking space. Some of our favorite activities were the many hiking trails, the free bike shuttle to the carriage roads and the many restaurants were we never got a bad meal. We had a awesome vacation - wish it was closer to home.

                  Great getaway for two

                  5 of 5
Kelley's Cottage was a perfect place to stay in Bar Harbor! The cottage is clean, and well stocked with kitchen supplies and linens. The back deck is a great place to have coffee in the morning. Bedroom is comfortable and cozy and we slept like rocks after long days of hiking in Acadia. More importantly, the owner could not have been nicer. We cannot wait to return to Bar Harbor and stay at Kelley's again.
