My family of 4 really enjoyed this cottage. (We had one unused bedroom, so it could easily work for a couple more.) First, the Pottery Barn colors and linens are much better than average cottage fare. If aesthetics matter to you, you'll like Honeybee. Second, it's walkable to a well-stocked and very competitively priced Hannaford. When we have vacationed on islands in the past, we pay a premium for food that is shipped from the mainland and is past its prime. The Hannaford was so convenient, we could decide what we wanted to eat and have it in-house within 15 minutes. Third, since we did a lot of adventuring -- stand-up paddleboarding, sea-kayaking, rock climbing, etc. -- we wanted to be right in the hub of activity. Because of the central location, we spent more time doing and less time driving around Bar Harbor and trying to park. We could also walk to great restaurants. You should know that Honeybee does not currently have outdoor seating. A bluestone patio with a dining table and chairs and/or a couple Adirondack chairs would be nice. They may add that in the future. It also doesn't have a view. But, if what you're looking for is cheerful, livable, comfortable, centrally located, and quiet, this cottage is a good bet.
