Memorable Vacation

5 of 5
My family and I spent a wonderful week here at La Maisonette. Our group was large and multi-generational. The house was large enough that no one was tripping over anyone. I loved the 2 kitchens and 2 washers and dryers. Many afternoons were spent on the front porch. Being able to walk downtown was a definite plus. My daughter got engaged just after the fireworks on the fourth. Bar Harbor holds many favorable memories for our family and we will be back. :)

Lovely home, close to park and downtown Bar Harbor

5 of 5
A lovely, immaculate home that is perfect if you want a location that is quiet and feels "off the beaten path" but still offers proximity to the park and downtown Bar Harbor. The house is right on top of one of the park entrances and a five-minute car ride from downtown (or walkable if you prefer). This was our first visit to Mount Desert Island and we had looked into staying in some of the "quieter," less populated areas of the island, but after seeing some of those areas during our visit, they are definitely further from the park and from sites like Bar Island, as well as from amenities like restaurants and a major grocery store. The house offered the serenity and peace of the quieter areas of the island with easy access to amenities. The two separate living areas in the house make it great for families, with a master bed and bath on the first floor and two full bedrooms with a shared bath on the floor below. The owner, Bob, was responsive and helpful, and lives nearby if you need him for any reason. My husband and I ran out of vacation before we could get through even half the things we wanted to see and do in the park and Mount Desert Island. It's a beautiful place, the house was terrific, and we hope to return!

A real gem

5 of 5
Our time at your house beginning the week of August 2 was a wonderful experience. We celebrated our 50th anniversary by having our three girls, their husbands, and nine grandchildren ages 24 to 12. It couldn't have been a better place to celebrate. The boys had a great time playing basketball in the out building, especially on the one rainy afternoon that we had. One evening one of the boys played his guitar in the library with a fire and we sang songs and danced. Each morning we had coffee looking at Frenchmans bay. Most days were spent exploring the park. All 17 of us used Atlantic Climbing School and went rock climbing at Otter Cliffs. Your house was a perfect location for our family, and it is truly a treasure.
