We Loved Moss Ledge!

5 of 5
My husband and I stayed at Moss Ledge this past week for a hiking/get-away vacation. From the start, Deb was extremely helpful in answering questions. The cottage was EXTREMELY clean and well equipped with everything we needed for a weeks stay. The location was fantastic as it was very close to Acadia where we hiked everyday and also very close to Bar Harbor. The short walk to the bottom of the street brought you to a beautiful view of Frenchman's Bay. One thing we noticed was how quiet the area was. Although it was on a street full of homes, it was so very quiet. Moss Ledge was truly a home away from home. After a long day of hiking the mountains, it was most pleasant to have this place to come back to. This is our fourth time in Maine/Acadia area but the first time at Moss Ledge. Definitely this has been our best stay yet. We totally recommend this cottage and we hope to return and stay again. We think you will love it just like we did. Stop in the Chart Room for a great dinner! And of course shopping in Bar Harbor can't be beat.

A wonderful cottage!

5 of 5
This cottage is a wonderful place to stay in Bar Harbor. The accommodation is even more charming than described. It is very centrally located and easy walking distance to everything. We didn't need our vehicle once we arrived. Everything you could possible need (except your food) is included in the cottage. Sherry has thought of everything including a history of the cottage that was very interesting. The cottage was very clean and the bed very comfortable. Sherry provided numerous fans that kept the cottage cool for sleeping. She also answered all our questions and was available if we needed anything. I absolutely loved staying in the cottage and look forward to coming back.

Cozy Cottage on Western Bay

5 of 5
We had such a great time staying in this cozy cottage. The sunroom overlooking the water was my favorite place to sit. We saw seals playing and the fog rolling in at night. At high tide, you can hear the water from the master bedroom which just lulled us to sleep. The kitchen has everything you need to cook meals if you want. Although there is not a washer and dryer, the kitchen sink is plenty big to rinse out a few items of clothes. Also, there is no wifi or TV which we thought was a bonus and we didn't miss either one at all! There is a radio so we listened to music. Cell service (Verizon) worked great! You can rent kayaks from a local company that will deliver right to the cabin (or bring your own) so we enjoyed the Western Bay waterfront access from the cabin. The cabin is located on a very quiet road and only 7 miles from the main entrance to Acadia National Park, 9 miles to Bar Harbor, and 10 miles to Ellsworth. We did not have any traffic to deal with. Lots of restaurants nearby and an IGA grocery that has everything else you might need. They even sell spirits and Maine's famous blueberry wine. Thank you Pat and Bob for sharing your cabin and we hope we can get to Maine again soon. There are many more hiking trails that we need to do.
