Cute cottage, easy walk to downtown BH

5 of 5
Robin was a gracious and helpful host. Cute little cottage is located behind her house, nice fenced in yard for dog to play in. Cottage was very comfortable, immaculately clean, warm for brisk fall nights. Best part was that it was very easy walking distance to downtown Bar Harbor (about 15 min) yet on a quiet street. Last day, Robin did a quick walkthrough and handed us the security deposit back before we left. BH highlights: Gorham Mountain Trail was an amazing half-day hike and rock climbing on Otter Cliffs with Atlantic Climbing School.

Fanatastic spot for families

5 of 5
I cannot say enough good things about this property. The condo was clean, new, and completely stocked with everything you might need to enjoy your vacation, down to board games for the kids and warm blankets for snuggling on the comfortable couches. The condo itselt is well laid out and very comfortable for groups of several people (we had 3 adults and a child). The views from the kitchen windows are just lovely. The pool is heated and was open (and warm) when we there in October, but there are also arrangements in place for condo guests to use an indoor pool at a nearby hotel if the weather is bad. There are two restaurants across the street - a cute pizza and ice cream place and a charming seafood restaurant. Both were delicious. Also a wine shop within walking distance. The park entrance is very close, and Bar Harbor is only a 5 min drive. Perfect spot! Would stay here again!

Peaceful Bar Harbor Retreat

4 of 5
At the end of a beautiful tree-lined road, our family of four, including two teenagers, loved our 5 day stay in Bar Harbor at the Bird's Nest Cottage. The location is truly perfect, with easy walking access to the harbor, the town, and the free Island Explorer bus system. Roberta and Lisabeth made sure we were comfortable and spoiled, and even surprised us with some amazing home baked goodies from the Shore Path Cottage B&B in the main house next door. The tranquil location in busy summer Bar Harbor was a welcome retreat. The cottage was well equipped, and the beds were very comfortable. The washer and dryer were new and efficient and came in very handy. I hadn't paid much attention to the description of the property, but it's worth noting there isn't a dishwasher. We prepared several meals at the cottage, and it was not a problem. Highlights of our trip included: rock climbing in Acadia, Thurston's Lobster Pound in Bernard (expect a line), Lulu's lobster boat, AcadiaImprov (a short walk from the cottage), reclining on the lawn adjacent to the cottage, exploring the Bar Harbor Shore Path, and whale watching. Bar Harbor restaurant recommendations from our hosts were amazing. The property is in beautiful condition and I thoroughly recommend it.
