This was one of the most relaxing vacations ever! The log cabin is clean and very well maintained. The proximity to the entrance of Acadia National Park was a real draw for us. We even made it up to the top of Cadillac Mountain for sunrise--an experience you shouldn't miss! After the sun comes up, go back into town for breakfast at Jordan's.
The location is great...shopping in Bar Harbor, a tour of the Atlantic Brewery, a boat ride from Northeast Harbor, relaxing on Sand Beach. If you feel like a longer day trip, take the time to go to Campobello Island in New Brunswick, Canada. It was well worth the drive- don't forget your passport!
One thing to think about if you are considering this property: it says it sleeps six which is true. There were only two of us so we had lots of room, but the living room and porch really do not accommodate six adults. You could probably make it work with kids, but it still would be tight.
The realtor who handled the property was very helpful and even called to let us know that the property was ready about 3 hours prior to the listed check-in time.
This was a perfect vacation spot and we hope to return.
